🎉🌞 Embrace the Spirit of York Days - A Week of Summer Fun and Community Celebration! Here is a compiled list of some of the MANY activities going on during our York Days celebration! 🌊✨

Join us for a week filled with joy and excitement as we kick off York Days with the magical Nubble Lights illuminating the picturesque coast from July 28th to August 6th. 🏰🌌 Experience the enchanting glow and capture unforgettable moments with your loved ones. Plus, make a difference in the lives of children in need by participating in our Toy Drive on the 28th, supporting the Maine Children's Home. Santa will be in attendance in his best summer outfit, so stop on by and support some families in need!

Throughout the week, there will be an array of delightful events to take part in. Enjoy the soulful melodies of the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra Quintet, embark on a fun-filled movie night under the stars at Long Sands, and take part in the York Days 5k for a thrilling run by the beach. 🎶🎬🏃‍♂️

Get ready for some shopping therapy at the York Days Craft Fair, where you can explore a treasure trove of unique handmade jewelry, woodworking, photography, and more. 🛍️🎨🧸

We'll wrap up the week with a bang, quite literally, as we light up the sky with a spectacular fireworks display at 9 pm on August 6th! 🎆🌠 Come together with the community to celebrate York Days, share moments of joy, and create cherished memories that will last a lifetime. 🎉🎇

All set up for a great weekend at the York County Coastal Cluster of Dog Shows at the Cumberland Fairgrounds in Cumberland, Maine. Come join in the fun and see 180 breeds of dogs being shown this weekend.

Beautiful picture!

Overhead view of the Nubble Lighthouse! //Look at the blue water and those waves crashing on the island! There is something about looking down on something from above that makes everything so much more dramatic.

Apparently, YB had a visitor yesterday!

Great story and video on how to tell the difference between a harmless Basking Shark, and a not-so-harmless Great White Shark.

A group of boaters near Long Sands Beach recorded a large basking shark floating at the surface of the water.

WOW! Look at this photo! Amazing.

The waves were pounding Nubble Lighthouse during the high tide today. It is not very often the seas get rough enough to actually vault spray this high into the air on the backside of the island. ( I have only seen it about 4 times ) The wind was howling and blowing sea spray everywhere. This was captured from inside the Jeep. The seagulls bobbing in the water and soaring on the air stream were loving it but I was less excited than them.

Blowing sideways, yup, that about sums up last night! Brrrr. About 14” on the ground this morning. Coastal flooding at Long Sands and Short Sands with high tides this afternoon.

Astronaut Chris Cassidy is from York, Maine. We all feel a huge sense of pride whenever he is on the International Space Station. It's so exciting to watch the Space Walks. Go Chris!

With Improving Public Health Metrics, Mills Administration Exempts Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey From Quarantine & Testing Requirement | Office of Governor Janet T. Mills

Latest update for our visitors from CT, NY, and NJ: because of low positivity rates similar to Maine's, visitors from those states will join visitors from NH and VT and no longer need to quarantine for 14 days upon entering Maine.

Face coverings that cover the nose and mouth are required for all employees and customers in stores.

The Mills Administration announced today that it is exempting visitors from the States of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey from the 14-day quarantine requirement or negative COVID-19 testing alternative, effective this Friday, July 3, 2020.

We searched for weeks for the perfect image or phrase to express our thanks and promote Hope. A couple of weeks ago we stumbled upon the perfect piece of art “Dreamer - the true Hero”. It depicts a young boy dressed as a superhero with his face mask, pretending to fly. I reached out to our now good friend Karl Read knowing I likely wouldn’t hear back from him way over in the UK. Fast forward to tonight and we are proudly displaying his art I first found on Amplifier just weeks ago. Projected each night for the next week or so 9pm-midnight.
