It is with heavy heart I write this. Prada our silkie roo passed away defending his flock this evening. He had the best demeanor, loved to dance, and was a doting father to his chicks. He was the reason I started Silver Mane Silkies. He was my first silkie boy and my baby. The coop will not be the same without his morning songs. He was so outgoing, and even though he was my little man, he did his best to step up as the flocks head roo and care for his ladies (even if they didn't like him too much). He was taken too soon, and I feel I will never have another roo that will be anywhere close to him. The only small light in this dark time is the fact I have his son with my flock still to continue his line. It's up to Venie to step up how as head roo and I can only hope he follows in his father's foot steps and becomes even half the roo Prada was.
