When we recommend feeding a raw diet THIS is what we mean. My boys, Boomer and Nash, are currently getting fed surf and turf. I take a brick of Steve’s Real Food fish with some raw ground beef. Sides include frozen blueberries and greens beans plus some chopped raw potato. I sprinkle nutritional yeast on top and drizzle with olive oil. 🤌🏻Delish! They always go back to their bowls to lick them just in case they missed a drop. Feeding this way also makes giving medication easier. Currently my boys are on “Capryl” and probiotics to prevent ye**ty skin and ears plus an enzyme for proper digestion.

We held off as long as we could but the rise in everything (three times) in a short amount of time has forced our hand. It’s not millions but it’s going to help with the burden of existing being so darned expensive. Many other industries have raised their prices past being affordable and I hope this doesn’t affect anyone like that. It’s only $5 more but I’d do this for free if it was possible, so that little increase upsets us. We never want to make grooming so expensive someone can’t have their pup cared for. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season. Peace ☮️ Love ❤️ and paw prints 🐾

Tully had his first puppy pamper session today. He was amazing and didn’t want to leave. Haha!! We have the gentle approach of first appt is always just a bath and tidy so they get used to the sounds and equipment. That way they can’t wait for their follow up 4 weeks later. Plenty of treats (bribes) are given to ensure they absolutely love being here. Can’t wait for the next appointment handsome boy!❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

I think I need to address something that has been happening quite often lately. And it’s the issue of a lack of consideration.

I’ve been in the pet care industry since 1987. I was 12 years old when I started volunteering at the Stratham SPCA. I then pursued grooming at the age of 20. Ive worked at various other salons, owned 7 so far, and even worked as a vet tech assistant for a time. I wanted to be well rounded in my industry. I also obtained an Associates in Business Management and then a Bachelors of Science in Holistic Nutrition with a focus in Herbology. All of my education whether obtained at a school or workplace was for the sole purpose of taking care of pets. It has also shaped how I operate my salon.

What does this all mean? Glad you asked.

We have very few, but firm, policies to keep this business running efficiently and safely. Basically to keep the doors open and food in our bellies. Whenever I enforce my BASIC policies of
:show up on time (or at all) for both pick up and drop off
:If you cancel in less than 48 hours we need payment to keep you on the books
:You can’t “skip” appointments just because you’re booked for the year.

Most have agreed it’s so basic it almost doesn’t need to be said.

Now….

For the few, but increasing in number, who think the opposite this is what I hear.

“Oh I thought you were nice? Guess not”
“I HOPE YOU FAIL AND SHUT DOWN!”
“You’re a terrible person”
“Cancel all of my future appointments”
“That’s ridiculous!”
“I heard you were difficult to work with”

That’s just to name a few and clean up the cursey words.

I cannot comprehend why anyone would look at a small business owner and literally rage at them for trying to protect their business from closing. Enforcing policies is not being mean. Its a way for me to not be taken advantage of. Simple as that. Every business has rules and policies. Why is it wrong for me to have mine?

Please read all of our policies on our page. If any are deal breakers please let us know. We love every pup that comes here and our hearts break repeatedly when they’re taken from us. Blessings and love to all ❤️🐾

With this summer being so hot I’ve had a few clients have to rush their dogs to the vet with severe dehydration and heat exhaustion. No one needs an unexpected vet bill or the panic of their beloved pet falling sick. So be prepared with a simple solution. If you can’t find this or any other dog specific electrolyte drink, Pedialyte (unflavored) will do in an emergency. Keep a bottle of this in your refrigerator, or cupboard if unopened, and administer if you see any signs of heat exhaustion. Symptoms include excessive drinking that doesn’t seem to quench thirst, vomiting, diarrhea, malaise or lethargy, hot skin, or any dizziness. Your dog could be on the way to a heat stroke so cool them quickly with a cold bath or wet towel to their belly. Also get the electrolyte drink into them as fast as possible. They won’t need much, just a few licks to bring back a balance of sodium, potassium and electrolytes. If they are too lethargic to drink use a medicine dropper to administer it to them. Squeeze a full dropper into their mouth and they will swallow reflexively. Let them rest and slowly drink water until they are satiated. To prevent this from happening you can pour a couple ounces into their water bowl and fill the rest with water on the hottest days. Also add ice cubes to their water bowls. Dogs already have higher core temperatures than we do so it doesn’t take much for them to overheat and dehydrate from panting. Brush undercoat out as often as possible to prevent overheating as well. Kiddie pools they can wade in will also keep their temps down. Please also be mindful of hot pavement. It will burn their paws so be sure to walk them in the woods, on the beach, or in fields of grass to prevent injury. Prevention is always better than treatment, but being armed with the knowledge of emergency first aid could save your dogs life. ❤️🐾
