HONEY TREATMENT IN HOSPITALS
Although honey has been used to treat wounds as early as 4000 years ago, its healing properties have been septic for the pharmaceutical industry. New research has supported the therapeutic action of honey. Starting in 1978, French professor Bernard Descottes, along with his team, began a series of honey experiments. Descottes released the results of a new study, conducted on 2,500 patients with various types of injuries. The success rate of honey in treating wounds was 95%. The results have convinced doctors in England, Germany, France, New Zealand to promote honey as a treatment for wounds in hospitals.

Because honey has a very high water absorption capacity, it cleans an infected wound better than any antiseptic and prevents germs from multiplying. A great advantage of honey, compared to antibiotics, is that it destroys any kind of germs or at least prevents them from multiplying in the wound. In addition, honey-containing pollen nourishes the affected tissue and helps regenerate it, which no antibiotic can do.
