He had taken a break for a little while but has recently rejoined our day care program. Chip absolutley loves all his new friends and they love him!🐾 He has made serval life-long best friends. The handlers have enjoyed watching him bounce around and play. He is the sweetest boy who gives kisses to all his friends.😚 We are so happy to have Chip a part of our day care program once again!

We'd like to introduce Gracie B!🤩
Gracie has been coming to Central Bark York for our salon & spa services and recently had decided to join our day care program.🤗 Her happy go lucky peronality has made her a favorite amoung all her new friends.🐾 Gracie loves to talk to her friends while they play. This beautiful chatter box has been an absolute joy to have apart of our family here at Central Bark York!😍

This is a friendly reminder on the importance of leash safety in the front lobby of our facility. Here at Central Bark York we take the safety and well-being of every dog that comes into our facility very seriously. With that being said below are a few friendly reminders of leash & lobby safety for when you enter our facility.

RETRACTABLE leashes are not allowed to be used here at Central Bark. The reason for this is for the safety of your dog and any other dog that may be present in our front lobby.

Why do we not allow retractable leash?
The thin cord of a retractable leash can easily break, tear or fray.
If the dog on the end of the retractable leash is quite powerful and takes off running full speed, the cord can snap. This allows for an unsafe situation. It can also injure the human walking them – as the cord comes snapping back toward their body and face.
We highly reconmend a standard 4 - 6 foot leash that is at least an inch or more thick.

A few friendly reminders while waiting in our front lobby:
- Keep a hold of your dogs leash until their leash is secured in a staff member's hand. Please do not drop your dogs leash at anytime.
- Keep your dog from approaching other dogs in the front lobby.

We ask that all of our clients be mindful, there may be a dog that is nervous of other dogs in our front lobby at the same time as you. It is important you adhere to the reminders above when coming into our facility with your dog to ensure we are all providing a safe and well balanced environment for every dog that enters our facility.

Kacey is recently new to our day care program. She started out our program in the medium dog groups and quickly moved up to the big dog groups. She loves playing with all her new friends. Kacey has made life long best friends here at Central Bark York. 🤗Kacey had showed some nervousness during rest times but with the help of the handlers and her familys hard work, she now rests comfortably during rest time.🤩 We all have enjoyed working with Kacey and watching her blossom! We are so happy to have Kacey a part of our family here at Central Bark York!🥰

Join us every Saturday in May from 11:00am - 12:00pm for our Free Puppy Hour!

Puppy Hour is a ton of fun and it also provides a critical opportunity for puppies to get socialization during their “sensitive period” which is between 8 and 16 weeks of age. Socialization is a process of preparing your dog to enjoy interactions and be comfortable with other animals, people, places, and activities.
We invite you and your puppy to attend as many sessions as you would like until your pup reaches the age limit. Meet our staff, speak with our trainer and groomer, and check out our facility. At Central Bark, our mission is to nurture and enrich your dog’s life, and a great way to start your pup on the right paw is through puppy socialization!

During this puppy program, your pup will:
-Enjoy off-leash age-appropriate play with vaccinated puppies of similar ages
-Be supervised by an experienced caregiver to ensure all play is safe and appropriate
-Be introduced to new dogs, humans, toys, environments, and obstacles
-Be exposed to new and interesting obstacles to encourage age-appropriate socialization and exposure

-Help your dog build comfort and confidence in unfamiliar settings
-Positively affect your dog’s lifelong emotional development
-Expand your puppy’s excess energy
-Begin to learn important group play and social skills
-Establish a strong foundation for a healthy, happy, and socially appropriate dog

-Puppies age 8–16 weeks

-Proof of up-to-date Bordetella and DHPP & Rabies vaccines
-Parents and children are welcome to participate
-Regular 6-foot flat leash (no retractable or flexi-leads in the lobby) and a quick-release collar. If your dog usually wears a harness, you’re welcome to bring that as well
