Hampton Roads has received numerous reports of raccoons testing positive for distemper. Fortunately, humans are not susceptible to this disease, but it can affect pets.

The most effective way to prevent distemper in dogs is to ensure they are vaccinated and their shots are current.

One wildlife rehabilitation group in Hampton Roads says it's noticing a lot of cases involving sick raccoons. They say dog owners should make sure their pets are vaccinated.

Here's the scoop on the puppies: they're now 7 weeks old! Time sure flew by, Mama M is back home with her family and doing fabulously. Everyone's happy, healthy, and energetic as can be. Potty training is underway, because let's be real, nobody likes accidents. This week they'll start puppy playdates with Maggie to help with socialization. Two of the puppies will be staying in our SPVH family and we will be sure to share their updates!
