Osteoarthritis (OA) is a condition involving inflammation and degeneration of the joints. Animals with OA experience pain and discomfort, and can have trouble with various daily activities. Symptoms of OA include difficulty getting up and down, lameness, stiff gait, reluctance to do stairs and/or reluctance to jump.

Joint supplements, such as Dasuquin Advanced ESM, help maintain cartilage structure and inhibit the enzymes that break down cartilage.

Meet our newest additions - three adorable puppies! Our hospital manager, Kristen, is fostering Mama M, a Boston terrier, and her puppies sired by a Frenchton (French bulldog/Boston terrier). Born naturally on October 19th, the puppies are healthy thanks to Dr. Johnson and Tatum's expert labor and delivery assistance. We appreciate their care for Kris and Mama M. Everyone is doing well. We'll keep our Salty Paws Friends updated on their journey. All puppies have found their forever homes.

National Veterinary Technicians Week was started in 1993 by the National Association of Veterinary Technicians to celebrate, recognize and promote the valuable contributions Credentialed Veterinary Technicians make to the veterinary professions.

This week we celebrate the backbone of veterinary medicine. If you have taken your pet to the vet, you have probably met a vet tech. But even if you haven't, your pet definitely has. There is so much behind the scenes that they do that keep the practice running!!

Thank you, not only to our AMAZING veterinary technicians Tatum, Halie, Kalee, and Katie, but to vet techs around the world!

New Product Alert! Nexgard Combo for Cats 🥳🥳🥳 Nexgard Combo is a topical medication that works for 30 days and will treat and prevent Fleas, Ticks, Heartworms, Intestinal Parasites INCLUDING TAPE WORMS!!! This will be huge benefit for many of our clients that have indoor & outdoor cats! Because tapeworms can come from fleas not only on the cat themselves but ALSO from the small rodents from which they might catch/kill/play. Until now we have had to use two separate products to treat the tape worms and treat/prevent fleas/ticks for our kitty patients!

It's tick season! Please remember to keep your pet's on a monthly flea/tick prevention. This patient was on an OTC flea/tick medication from an online pharmacy. Clearly, it's not working because the ticks are alive and engorged. We recommend Nexgard chewable tablet monthly or Seresto collar every 8 months. #saltypawsvet #Nexgard #seresto #tickprevention
