Dr. Santiago is here! She has officially joined the Yorktown Animal Hospital team and is taking new patients. She has been practicing for two years in the U.K. and is excited to be back home.

Due to added staffing, we are now able to schedule urgent care/same-day visits. We will have two doctors on staff every day.

We got to do something a little different at the hospital yesterday and would like to pass on this good information to all of our clients during fawn season. This little fawn is now safe with a wildlife rescue specialist.

Cleaning out your linen closet? Downsizing? We are once again accepting donations of towels, sheets, and fleece blankets for hospital use. Clean, gently used linens can be left with the front desk staff. Thank you!

It's always heartbreaking to read about a lost pet on Facebook or other social media sites. Some posts are scams, however. To protect yourself follow the excellent advice in this article.

Mani/Pedi days are back!! We are down a doctor starting July 30-Aug 3, due to Dr. Wolfe going to the AVMA conference. Therefore, this Saturday from 8am-noon and Tuesday, Aug 2nd during regular business hours, our assistants will be available for pedicures at anytime. You can also have your pet's Bordetella vaccination, heartworm check, or f***l check done those days with no appointment necessary. Any prescription requests are subject to Veterinarian approval. As with any walk-in service, it will be on a first come first serve basis.

It will be dangerously hot this week. Do not leave your pets in your car OR outside. Ensure they have easy access to water. Limit walks to early morning or late in the evening. Hot pavement/asphalt can burn your dogs paws. If you can't walk barefoot on it, don't ask them too.

After a day of fun at the beach, Jax and Nala tried out our NEW bathing tub. We think they approve. (Yes, all pets are safely restrained during their baths, Angel one of our LVT's was bathing her dogs.)
