Can you get a better background?!?!
This evenings sunset was absolutely gorgeous!
If you snapped a picture of it post it below I’d love to see your views!
How’s this for eye contact when out on a structured walk!
Great job Maverick!
We met this year old Rottweiler named Thor yesterday at Farm & Fleet. He was rescued just 3 days ago and look how well he is doing! So much to learn for him as he navigates through adolescence. We are hoping to see him at this Sunday’s group training class too!
While in New York I had the incredible opportunity to visit with one of our other recent Board & Training graduates Hailey. Let me tell you the embracement she had those first 5 minutes of of seeing me was nothing less than heartwarming to the highest of levels. The love and connection she has for me is so amazing and so fulfilling ☺️
Another pitstop on our trip home to deliver Mr. Bernie to his forever home!
Work never stops because doing life with your dog ALWAYS makes life better not only for the dog and yourself but for everyone you positively impact along the way. So that brings me to a few rules I do my best to follow in life.
Rule #1- Never leave your dog behind, not at home, not in the car, never, always bring them with you!
Rule #2- It is your duty to train your dog for life not speaking forever but by experiencing everyday normal life situations that will build your relationship confidence, trust, communication and bond.
Rule #3- YOU CAN DO THIS!
With 8 weeks of our in-home Board & Training you too can have your puppy navigating life in a more respectful and composed way than most children.
***note we do not train children*** 🤣
It doesn’t matter if off-leash or on-leash for 17 week old Bernie from Hoosier Canines it also does not matter if we are inside or outside my expectations for Bernie’s attentiveness is always the same.
Stay focused, maintain connection and enjoy life together!
When we put in work together we also play together. This is also very effective in our road-trip being we can exhaust both mental and physical energy in a very short period of time. Far more effective in this scenario than spending 30-45 minutes training or doing a structured walk. Improvising to fulfill the dogs needs in all aspects is key to a mutually fulfilling relationship.
What 8 weeks of training does for a puppy that doesn’t even know their name when I pick them up from Hoosier Canines
Patience is of the upmost importance in all environments even when pit stopping at a truck stop for some water and to stretch our legs 😊
Training never stops even on road trips!
Desensitizing and Confidence Building
Desensitizing and confidence building is part of the training process at Training That Lasts. There are going to be a lot of distractions and “scary things” in life. By doing these exercises, it prepares the dog for the unexpected and helps them not be so reactive to it.
