Attention Ratters! YPC would like to officially announce that December 2019 will be our last trial. We have loved every minute of this 2.5 year run and all the wonderful people we have met along the way! Thank you for all your support and making YPC such a success! Thank you to all of our judges! We couldn’t of done this without you! When we decided to start our own club we had one goal in mind...to create a warm and welcoming environment where you guys can come have fun with your pups! Our Boomer received his vest!!!

**K9 Boomer Received Donation of Body Armor**

Lake County Sheriff’s Office K9 Boomer has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from non-profit organization Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. The vest was sponsored by Yorkville Paws & Claws and embroidered with the sentiment “Honoring those who served and sacrificed.”

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a 501c(3) charity located in East Taunton, MA whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K9 officers. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. provided over 3,300 protective vests in 50 states, through private and corporate donations, at a value of $5.7 million dollars.

The program is open to dogs actively employed in the U.S. with law enforcement or related agencies who are certified and at least 20 months of age. New K9 graduates, as well as K9s with expired vests, are eligible to participate.

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950.00. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283, and a five-year warranty and an average weight of 4-5 lbs. There is an estimated 30,000 law enforcement K9s throughout the United States. For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please call 508-824-6978. Sheriff John Idleburg said, “We are very grateful for the generous donation from Vested Interest in K9s. Because of their generosity, Boomer joins our other canines in being protected against a violent attack. We value our four canines very much, and want to do everything we can to ensure they are safe while serving the Lake County Community.”

Open/Senior @ 6pm

Group rates:
If you have a group of people that want to get together for a lesson/run throughs group rates: 7 or fewer dogs $20 per dog. 8 or more dogs $15 per dog. Any mixture of levels. Minimum of 4 dogs.

A huge thanks to everyone who donated at our December trial! We raised enough money to purchase 2 vests! Meet K9 Boomer from Lake County Sheriff’s Department!! We are beyond grateful to be able to provide protection to this happy boy! 💙💙💙

WAUKEGAN, Ill. -- K9 Boomer, a four-footed officer with the Lake County Sheriff's Department, will be receiving new body armor. His new vest will protect K9 Boomer from bullets and stabbing.
