imes a day hand walking by our caring staff, exercise in our grass play yards and the security of clean and bright kennels. We don't have over-the-top dog couches and TVs, we don't have sterile guillotine gates with concrete runs - what we do have is a safe, friendly facility and staff filled with the mind-engaging activities and interactions dogs crave. For our feline guests, we offer a separate cat area with kitty condos. Call it a double standard, but the cats DO get their own couch to lounge on, just like at home, plus plenty of toys and social interaction throughout the day! Our location is unbeatable - conveniently located from both Route 34 and Interstate 88 in Yorkville, IL. You must be thinking that our prices would match such a convenient location and great services, but compare us and you'll see that our prices that are drastically lower with a higher caliber of care than other boarding facilities. All-in-all you'll find it well worth the trip to bring your pet to Country Comfort! Combined, our staff has over 50 years of professional animal management. We hope that your pet enjoys the time he or she spends with us as much as we enjoy spending time with them and allowing you the peace and security of mind that comes from knowing your four-legged family members are well cared for!

Here are some safe treat ideas to celebrate the spooky season:

Halloween is full of fun, frights, and festive treats, but it can also bring a few hidden hazards for our furry friends. Here are some simple ways to help keep your pets safe and stress-free this spooky season:

🍬 Candy Dangers: Chocolate, sugar-free treats (with xylitol), and raisins are toxic to pets. Remind kids to keep their candy stash where curious noses can’t find it!

🕯️ Décor Hazards: Pumpkins with candles, dangling decorations, fake spider webs, and electric cords can all pose fire or chewing hazards. Keep decorations out of reach.

🚪 Doorway Safety: Trick-or-treat traffic can be scary and tempting for escape. Keep pets in a quiet room away from the front door to reduce anxiety or use a baby gate for extra security around the open door.

🏷️ Check ID & Microchips: Accidents can happen, especially with doors opening often. Make sure your pet’s ID tags are up to date and that their microchip information is current, it’s the best way to get them home if they slip out.

👗 Costume Comfort: Make sure costumes fit properly and don’t restrict movement, breathing, or vision. Always supervise costumed pets and skip the outfit if they seem stressed.

💡 Glow Stick & Battery Warnings: Glow sticks, jewelry, and small batteries can cause irritation or serious harm if chewed or swallowed. Keep these items away from pets.

Have a fun, safe, and pawsitively spooktacular Halloween! 🧡🐾

Halloween night can be full of excitement, but it can also be overwhelming for our four-legged friends. If your pet is joining in on the trick-or-treat fun, keep these tips in mind:

🎃 Know Your Pet’s Personality: Not all pets enjoy the crowds, costumes, and noise. If your pet gets anxious or reactive, it’s best to let them relax at home instead of tagging along.

🦮 Use a Secure Leash & Collar: Make sure your pet’s collar fits snugly and their leash is in good condition. Reflective gear or a glow collar helps keep them visible after dark.

🏷️ Double-Check ID Tags: With distractions everywhere, even calm pets can slip away. Ensure ID tags and microchip info are up to date, just in case.

👗 Choose Comfort Over Costume: If your pet is dressing up, make sure their costume allows easy movement and breathing. Skip anything that covers the eyes or has small pieces that could be chewed.

🍫 Avoid Candy & Wrappers: Keep all treats, especially chocolate and sugar-free candy with xylitol, far from curious noses. Even a small amount can be toxic.

💡 Watch for Hazards: Costumes, decorations, and loud noises can startle pets. Keep an eye out for spooky surprises that could frighten or stress your furry friend.

Whether your pet joins the trick-or-treat fun or stays cozy at home, a little preparation goes a long way toward keeping the night safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Happy Halloween🧡🐾

To the heroes who ran toward the fire when the world stood still.
To the workers who never came home.
To the lives cut short yet never forgotten.

To the hands that held each other through the smoke and the sorrow.

To the firefighters, police, medics, and all who carried the weight of that day you showed them what it means to be unbreakable.

To the dogs, loyal and tireless,
who searched through devotion and purity.

And to every soul lost, your light rose higher than the towers, carried on wings of remembrance.

Today we bow in silence, for courage that inspires, for the memory that keeps the world united.

We remember. Always. 🦋 🇺🇸

Want to whip up something special for your four-legged friend? Try this easy DIY dog-safe ice cream recipe:

2 ripe bananas

1 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt (or dog-safe dairy-free alternative)

Blend it all together, pour into silicone molds or an ice cube tray, and freeze for a few hours!

Your pup will thank you—with a very happy, slightly messy smile. 😄🍨
