Love the thought of a getaway, but hate the thought of sending your dog or cat to the kennel? Us too, so we set out to create something different, with the care and comfort of your canine and feline family members in mind! Country Comfort is a family owned and operated boarding kennel fully staffed by dog and cat lovers who treat your pet as they would their own. Your dog will enjoy four to five t

imes a day hand walking by our caring staff, exercise in our grass play yards and the security of clean and bright kennels. We don't have over-the-top dog couches and TVs, we don't have sterile guillotine gates with concrete runs - what we do have is a safe, friendly facility and staff filled with the mind-engaging activities and interactions dogs crave. For our feline guests, we offer a separate cat area with kitty condos. Call it a double standard, but the cats DO get their own couch to lounge on, just like at home, plus plenty of toys and social interaction throughout the day! Our location is unbeatable - conveniently located from both Route 34 and Interstate 88 in Yorkville, IL. You must be thinking that our prices would match such a convenient location and great services, but compare us and you'll see that our prices that are drastically lower with a higher caliber of care than other boarding facilities. All-in-all you'll find it well worth the trip to bring your pet to Country Comfort! Combined, our staff has over 50 years of professional animal management. We hope that your pet enjoys the time he or she spends with us as much as we enjoy spending time with them and allowing you the peace and security of mind that comes from knowing your four-legged family members are well cared for!

Happy National Ice Cream Day! 🍨

Friendly reminder: while your ice cream is delicious, it’s not always easy for our dogs to digest and sometimes has ingredients that are toxic to dogs. Stick to dog-safe frozen goodies so everyone gets a sweet bite of the fun!

Want to whip up something special for your four-legged friend? Try this easy DIY dog-safe ice cream recipe:

2 ripe bananas

1 cup plain, unsweetened yogurt (or dog-safe dairy-free alternative)

1 tablespoon xylitol-free peanut butter

Blend it all together, pour into silicone molds or an ice cube tray, and freeze for a few hours!

Your pup will thank you—with a very happy, slightly messy smile. 😄🍨

Happy National Tropical Fruit Day! 🌴

We’re celebrating with a fruity twist — and yes, your pets can get in on the fun (in moderation)!

Did you know? Some tropical fruits are not only safe for pets but can also be a healthy treat! Here's a quick guide:

🥭 Mango - A juicy hit! Contains vitamins A, B6, C and E as well as fiber and potassium. Just peel it, remove the pit, and give a small chunk to your pup. Cats may give it a sniff and walk away, but hey, it’s the thought that counts.

🍍 Pineapple - Fresh (never canned!) Rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. It also contains bromelain which is an enzyme that aids in protein digestion. Make sure to remove the skin and core before offering a small taste to your dog or cat.

🥝 Kiwi - Good source of vitamins C, E, and K, and filled with potassium and fiber. Be sure to remove the skin, this can be difficult to digest and could cause choking or blocking hazards. Both cats and dogs can enjoy this treat in small amounts.

🥥 Coconut - A little unsweetened coconut can be okay for dogs and cats, but too much fat can upset their tummy—so keep it small!

🥭 Papaya - Good for digestion and the immune system. Be sure to remove the rind and seeds before offering a small taste to your pets. Both cats and dogs can enjoy a few small bites of this fruit!

🚫 Be cautious of fruits with pits or seeds—they can be toxic, pose choking hazards, or cause an intestinal blockage. Make sure you clean and prep your fruit properly to avoid these risks.
