🍂We do not remove leaves from the properties we manage.

The best practice is to leave your leaves. If you must tidy up there better options than removing your leaves.

Leaves are nutrients. Leaves are shelter for pollinators. Leaves are insulators.

We can move your leaves around, into beds to help insulate your plants or we can mulch them to help fight erosion. We can move them to an area where you compost. We can push them into your garden or flower bed..etc.

(My customers message after I moved her leaves into places where they would be beneficial. I also filled some holes on her property. Thanks Sandi )

A few peaches, some San Marzano (grown from seeds that came from Italy), a few yellow pear tomatoes, a couple peppers and a Cherokee Red tomato dropped off to my friends Nick and Savino !

Savino loves peaches so he got some peaches fresh off the tree ! 🍑

📢 Eastern Monarch Population Update 📢

Are you in need of some good news? The latest survey from Mexico reports the eastern monarch butterfly population occupied 1.79 hectares this winter, a 99% increase from last season’s 0.9 hectares. While this number fluctuates, it remains below the recommended 6-hectare threshold for a sustainable migratory population highlighting the need for continued conservation action.

73% loss of wildlife on Earth has occurred in just 50 years!!! This is catastrophic. This is extinction!

Brier Hill Gardens would like to let you know that we are now offering small to medium scale native plantings and habitat restoration services.

We have significantly increased our native planting and seed saving this year. We shifted focus from our vegetable gardening to native seed saving and planting. We have furthered and deepened our understanding of the world around us and we want to help.

We currently have limited supplies of common milkweed and butterfly (meadow) Milkweed available for planting. We have more seeds available but still need to get a good estimate of how much we have. For now, milkweeds are available. (Please message us to get scheduled in before winter!)

If you are interested in boosting native plant, animal and pollinator populations we are here for you!

No effort is too small. You can help mitigate biodiversity loss by installing native plants! Even one seed can make a difference!
