For immediate release :
Animal Charity took in 78 abandoned animals just in January. Kane, Undertaker, and Paul pictured below were just 3 of those animals. We had 27 animals rescued in 36 hours during this time.
The owner of all 3 dogs have voluntarily surrendered due to abuse and neglect. Charges are pending against the owner. This case is a reminder that neglecting an animal’s basic needs is a serious crime with consequences.
These animals were living in deplorable conditions, without adequate shelter, food, or water. As the temperatures dropped, Kane, Undertaker, and Paul were ALL extremely dehydrated. With insufficient shelter, frost wounds, and sores. Also other signs of neglect that could have been prevented with basic care. There was a Winter Weather Advisory on the day that Kane, Undertaker and Paul were rescued.
Insufficient shelter means these dogs are exposed to the harsh elements, with no protection from the cold, rain, or extreme heat. In freezing temperatures, they’re at risk for frostbite-a serious condition that can lead to tissue damage and even amputation if untreated.
The damage doesn’t stop there. Sores can develop from prolonged exposure, leading to infections and long-term suffering. Making life even harder for these innocent animals. Every dog deserves proper shelter to protect them from the elements. No animal should endure frostbite, open sores, or unnecessary pain.
If you see a dog in these conditions, speak up. It’s time to raise awareness and demand better care for our furry friends.
