Gracie Moon has just returned to Purr Partners through no fault of her's. Her adopter didn't provide her with the FOREVER wonderful home that was promised. Although Purr Partners processors try to access each application as best as possible, sometimes it just doesn't work out. So Gracie Moon is back with Purr Partners in a low stress foster home, this time to find her real forever home.

Gracie Moon is not only a beautiful Siamese Seal Point kitty, she is also a super sweet kitty with a calm personality. She loves to spend time with people and to just be loved.

This calm girl warmed up to her foster family quickly and LOVES snuggles. Her people will be rewarded as she purrs easily. She is a definite fan of twice a day brushing.

Pretty Gracie Moon really wants to be the only kitty in your life, but dogs are fine since she knows she's superior! She has not been around young children so we aren't sure of her opinion of them. Gracie Moon is looking forward to settling into a calm forever home with lots of attention and will make a wonderful pet and friend :)

If you are looking for a beautiful kitty girl with a winning personality submit your application and ask to meet Gracie Moon.

Hello—my name is Glimmerglow, but my foster calls me beautiful! I am a little shy when I first meet someone new and like to sit back and observe you, but, once I realize you are nice, I will come out and play and come to you for love! 😻

I like to climb into my foster moms lap and take a good nap. I really don’t like being held, but I will snuggle when I want to! I love to play with my siblings. That is my favorite thing to do! I have not met a toy I didn’t like, but furry mice and noisy balls are my favorite! I am mostly playing, sleeping and snuggling. I am a kitten! 🐾

Poetry is a wonderful girl, who gets along with all the cats in her foster home and enjoys playing with them.🐾 She loves to sit in the cat tree and take a cat nap, play with wands or roll in catnip. She will occasionally sit with her foster mom, if she doesn’t already have cats on her, as Poetry does not like to cause a fight with the others. Poetry would love to find her own family, is it yours?😻

This handsome 23-week-old tabby boy is the life of the party!

😺Lite Brite has lots of kitten energy with which to keep you entertained. Chasing and wrestling with his brothers are his favorite activities.

❤Lite Brite is all in for any kitten games you want to play. He is very friendly, social, and confident. The total package kitty!

😺Lite Brite would be an excellent candidate for a family with children, he spent time with a young child once and was very comfortable with her. If your cat needs a buddy, Lite Brite would be a great fit. If you are considering adopting 2 kittens, please consider one of his brothers (Lollipop and Linguini) although they are not bonded, if you are looking for two kitties, keeping siblings together is wonderful.

For more information on Lite Brite and how you can meet this adorable cutie, contact us on our website by filling out the adoption application. Filling out the application does not obligate you to adopt, but it does get the application started to see if you are approved to adopt.

Decibel was so pitiful when Purr Partners rescued him, with multiple issues such as hair loss from skin issues and was dangerously underweight from a stressful life trying to survive on his own. He was so happy to be rescued from his past life and has come a long way since then.

🐾He is a big boy now at a healthy weight but not always confident enough to stand up to cats that will bully him. He is currently on a monthly dose of revolution to treat/prevent skin irritations. He will let you pet him but is a little sensitive in spots, so being educated on his likes and dislikes will help navigate the best way to have a happy kitty.

🐾Decibel is 1-year-old, loves to make biscuits but does not retract his claws when doing so. Therefore, families with young children or inexperienced cat owners may not be a good fit for him. He likes everyone, including the laid-back senior dog he shares a foster home with.

😻This sweet friendly boy is an adult kitty in age, but a kitten at heart. Decibel will entertain himself by playing with whatever catches his interest, even if it isn't a cat toy. He also likes to lay on the couch or bed to be near his human family. He and his new little foster bro, Cheesy Puff, have become fast friends. They play, chase, wrestle, and nap together.

😻Decibel is FELV positive, so he can only live with other FELV positive kitties. He might be content as an only kitty, but he would probably be happiest joining a family with a friendly FELV kitty who also wants a playmate.

FeLV is a feline-only virus that cannot be transmitted to humans. It’s important to not confuse FeLV with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), though both are species-specific viruses that only affect cats. Felv positive kitties live a long great life too, so please don't pass up this amazing boy, we'd be happy to talk you through more information to educate you further.

Here are more pictures of the kittens we pulled in the group of 18. We are already seeing improvement in their upper respiratory illnesses and their willingness to trust. They are so happy to be out of the scary shelter. Sadly, these are the kind of kittens that no one ever sees - they come in as strays or owner surrenders and go straight to the back. And that's pretty much it. This is why we went to the back instead of the adoptable cat room - because we knew these were the ones not going to make it out, and they deserve a chance too! They will be wonderful, loving pets that will make someone very happy! And it's because of donations that we can take on these sick ones, the ones that will require more work. That's how you are helping us save lives everyday - even if you never see these kittens in person!

08/08/2024

Purr Partners is based in Franklin County, NC. This is the county we incorporated in, and it's basically our home county. We take cats and kittens from many other counties, but Franklin is where we are located.
This past weekend, and on Monday, we stepped up to pull 18 cats and kittens from Franklin County Shelter. The shelter is under investigation for their euthanasia practices and mistreatment of cats and kittens especially as well as not providing adequate vet care for injured or sick animals brought into the shelter. The shelter has been fined, and the director and two employees have been placed on leave. This left only two employees to care for all the cats and dogs in the shelter, so on Saturday, we went to the shelter to check the cats and kittens and start trying to get the most vulnerable ones out. Over two days, we ended up pulling 18. We pulled all the ones in quarantine that were sick, we took the ones in the so-called feral room (who were not feral at all), we took a mom with babies, a very pregnant mom, and a teenager who had been in the shelter so long he was cage bound and is only now figuring out how to be a cat. These were not cats and kittens available for adoption - they were sick, scared, pregnant, and the very kind that never get out of a shelter. And they are wonderful. All are getting medical care as many are sicker than we knew, and the pregnant mom ended up having her babies Tuesday morning after us getting her Monday. Unfortunately, she herself is a kitten, and things did not go well. She has no milk, ended up having to have an emergency caesarian section to save the babies. There were five, and the one stuck in the birth canal died. There is a set of twins - in the same sack - so they are identical. Mom is in terrible shape and only weighs 4 pounds. We are working hard to save her.
Now, for the plea. This year and last has devastated our finances. We have managed to keep taking in the most vulnerable, the sickest, the ones most in need, but we are coming up against the reality that we cannot continue without significant donations. We have helped individuals with injured and sick cats, we have continued our TNR program because we know how needed it is, but we are now at a crossroads. We still have some significant expenses coming up: we have six kittens with eyelid agenesis that will need surgery. We have two cats in surgery today for eye enucleations. And we know there is more coming down the road. We literally cannot do this without help - and we understand everybody is struggling.
If all of our followers gave $5, this would mean we could continue all the things we do. Better yet, join our High 5 Campaign and donate $5 monthly (or $10!) Please donate what you can, share this post, and know that we appreciate every one of you who step up time after time.
Our volunteers are so amazing, and our fosters are the best there is. They care, they constantly squeeze in more desperate cats and kittens, and many spend their own money. We want to support them, provide the very best care for our cats and kittens, AND we want to be able to help when we get the desperate calls.
Take a look at all the pictures, and then go to the website and consider joining our High Five campaign - and maybe also donating now to help us with this sudden influx of sick kitties.
We understand just how tough times are. Vet care is killing us because we try to provide excellent care. Spay-neuter prices have just gone up again. Food seems to go up everyday. Supplies we can't do without make our heads spin!
Thank you for reading and please share!

Silhouette is a sweet kitty who enjoys eating, playing and exploring. This athletic kitty could be an Olympic contender with her jumping, flipping and leaping. Her favorite toys are springs, balls, play mice, and anything that swings from a rod. Silhouette is so entertaining, we affectionately call her Silly.

Silhouette is curious and always wants to know what you are doing.
She’ll greet you, rub against your legs, and follow you hoping for some petting. If you offer her treats, she will quickly become your best friend.

Before rescue, Silhouette suffered a severe right eye infection. As a result, the right eye is hazy and smaller. The experts at Animal Eye say the right eye is healed, she can see light, and no further treatment is needed. Fortunately, her left eye is normal. Limited vision in her right eye does not slow down this playful kitten.

Silhouette has good kitten manners, she uses scratchers, her litter box and likes other cats. A home without young children would be best because she can become startled if grabbed from behind or her blind side. A home with lots of playtime and treats will allow her amazing personality to blossom. If you are ready for a new companion, Silhouette could be the one.

Feeding Chimi
Chimichanga almost lost her life in the shelter because no one knew what was wrong with her. She was vomiting and not growing, but she loved life, and the shelter did not want to euthanize her, so they contacted Purr Partners. When we got her, we took her in to our vet to see what was going on, and it was discovered that Chimi has megaesophagus. At the time, she had aspiration pneumonia which can be common with kitties with megaesophagus. However, since those first few weeks, we have gotten this sweet girl on a regimen that has made all the difference in the world for her, and she has never developed pneumonia following her regimen.

Chimi is a sweetheart of a girl with lots of energy, loves toys and playing and loves watching birds and squirrels! She gives kisses and face rubs, and along with the funny esophageal sounds, she has a big purr. She is agile and athletic like any kitty her age, and loves nothing better than attention - unless it's her food!

Megaesophagus is a congenital abnormality where the esophagus is greatly distended and pretty much flaccid. There are two types, and through a CAT scan, we found Chimi has the kind that cannot be fixed through surgery.

Chimi is a perfectly normal kitten in every way as long as she follows the regimen we have established for her. The goal is to let gravity help the food move down the esophagus and into her stomach - and then it's all normal from there!
Truly, she is an easy management kitty - so if you think you can do it, we will help you! She deserves a chance and a home like any other kitten, and she is such a sweetheart, we know someone will fall in love because what's not to love?!

Watch her 2 videos to see just how easy feeding her is and what a sweetheart she is.

Meet the adorable 22-week-old Moxie. Moxie has spent her days playing with her two brothers, so she has developed into quite a confident kitten. She loves to chase them around the house. She is always looking for ways to lie in the sun and find herself at the top of the cat tree.

😻If Moxie’s brothers get into her personal space, she has been known to give them a quick bump on the head to let them know they need to back off. Moxie very much enjoys human contact. Lately, she has decided if you are sitting in a chair that she should jump on your back as a way to get your attention.

😻Moxie has been around a dog and does not appear to mind it. She is very quick and is usually the first one to run out of the kitten room. Who could resist this adorable face?

👍To meet Moxie and other adoptable Purr Partners kitties at one of our weekend adoptathon events, apply to become a pre-approved adopter today by filling out our online adoption application.

This 2-year-old beauty is just that, BEAUTIFUL!

Charisma is super sweet, and loves to be petted, lays under her blanket in the cat tree, and gives kisses. She also loves to lick your hands.

Charisma will talk to you while she is patiently waiting for her can food. She is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly which is expected since she has gone through a lot of changes.

Charisma has a brother Milo that she would love to be able to be adopted with, since they share a special bond. They are good with other kitties and dogs and are fully house trained.

Contact us on our website for more information, by filling out the online adoption application.

Cats, Did you know
Is that an unusual color for her eyes?
Cat's fur and eye color is determined by melanin. The more melanin present the darker the fur and eyes. Melanin affects fur and eyes differently so you can have a dark cat with lighter eyes. Eyes can range from blue to green to yellow to gold to copper.
New born kittens are helpless and blind. They begin to open their eyes at 7-10 days. At that time the eyes are a cloudy blue which at 6 weeks gradually begin to change color until at 3 months their eyes are the final color. By 10 weeks a kitten can see as well as an adult.
Cat's eyes are so beautiful and mesmerizing. And Purr Partners kitties are a great example.

Bonne Annee has such beautiful green eyes, a striking combination for a black cat. This sweet, gentle girl loves people and would love to meet you.

Grape Soda's gorgeous yellow eyes and large and alert. This confident kitten is ready for play and loves people.
