Invitation to Join the Sun Cities 4 Paws Board

Sun Cities 4 Paws is one of the few CAT ONLY rescues in Arizona. Founded in 1996 as a nonprofit 501(c)(3) no-kill shelter, we are entering our 29th year, providing sanctuary and care for homeless cats until adoption. To date, we are proud to have saved over 12,000 cats. We are seeking passionate board candidates who love cats and want to help us continue this vital work.

The 4 Paws Board is a ‘working board’. In addition to helping our cats and kittens as fosters and volunteers, board members actively participate in events, projects, shelter operations and play a role in organizational governance. Board members serve without pay.

In 2024, the Board initiated and implemented the expansion of our shelter by leasing a building across from the Peoria Shelter. Once fully operational, this expansion will allow us to intake more cats and kittens as well as offer wellness visits and vaccinations to our Alumni cats.

The board currently seats 13 members, and will have 4 openings for the April 2025 election. The term for these positions is for 3 years.

We are seeking candidates with experience in the following areas to compliment the skills and connections of our current board members.

– Technology –Human Resources –Legal Experience –Marketing
–Fundraising –Financial Experience –Veterinary Fields

Happy Holidays! My name is Sinbad and I am a little over 6 years young and quite a looker! I am a short hair brown tabby and love to be pet. I am very affectionate to anyone showing me attention. I love climbing perches and investigating my environment. Oh, and wave one of those wands with ribbons on it in front of me and I will play with you for as long as you want! I really am quite mellow and will cuddle up on your lap. I like wet food and treats, too. I am not bothered by other cats, either. Come and meet me. Happy Holidays! My name is Abitail and I do have a gorgeous tail if I say so myself. I am a female (of course, look at how pretty I am!) and have beautiful yellow and white medium length fur. I love to be brushed and loved on. I am mellow and like to be picked up. I would like to play with you and wand toys. Climbing perches is one of my favorites. My previous owners left me at 4 Paws, and I am hoping for a loving family for life at the holidays. We can give each other loving companionship. I will be waiting for that special someone, is it you?

~Cat of the Week~ Rafiki

Hi and Happy Holidays! I’m Rafiki and my 2nd birthday is coming up on the 21st of this month. I have beautiful medium-length yellow fur and am quite the distinctive mellow gentleman. I love to play hide and go seek and wand toys (oh, and perches are a BIG plus!). I have a good appetite and am loving and love to be pet. I was featured this last Spring, but I don’t understand why I don’t have a home yet, except people see I am FIV+ and think I am not a healthy boy. You know, cats with FIV+ can live a long, healthy life. I was abandoned once and would love to find my forever loving family.

When I came to 4 Paws, I was pregnant and within a few days, I had 5 babies! My name is Chunky Munky. They named me and my babies after different ice cream flavors. I am not chunky..I have a great figure! I have beautiful, long black fur and love to be pampered and brushed. I am 4 ½ years young and gentle. The word in the shelter is I am a sweetheart (which I totally agree with). I love playing with wand toys and cuddling with you. I like wet food and treats also. If you want a loving companion, I am your girl.
