Poinsettias are a holiday favorite, but they can pose a mild risk to pets. While not highly toxic, ingesting poinsettias may cause irritation to your pet’s mouth and stomach, leading to drooling or mild vomiting. To keep your furry friends safe, place these plants out of reach or consider pet-safe alternatives like Christmas cacti.

Other holiday plants, like mistletoe and holly, are more dangerous. Mistletoe can cause severe stomach upset or even cardiovascular issues, while holly berries can lead to vomiting and diarrhea. Ensure these plants are kept well out of reach, or skip them altogether for a stress-free holiday season.
