🔎🔎🔎Found a Dog or Cat? 🐱 🐶 🐾

Many of us think that the best thing to do if we find someone's lost pet is to take them to the nearest shelter. But the reality is that once a pet is inside the shelter system, the barriers to them getting back to their original family start to stack up:

🚫 there may be reclaim fees
🚫 there may be ordinance violations
🚫 the owner may not have transportation to get to the shelter and the shelter may be far away
🚫 the owner may not even know about the shelter

If you really want to help reunite a lost pet with their family, the most helpful thing you can do is first take some steps to try to find out who the owner is:

1️⃣ Walk the pet around the immediate area. Ask people! Most pets are found within a mile of home.
2️⃣ Post photos of the pet on social media, Petco Love Lost (which allows you to share on NextDoor), and neighborhood lost and found groups.
3️⃣ Does the pet have visible ID? Be sure to call/text the number. Check the pet for a microchip (most shelters and vet clinics can scan for a chip).
4️⃣ Contact your local shelter(s) via phone or website to file a found pet report.

People have already begun setting off fireworks and its only get worse as New Year’s Day approaches. Are your pets protected? Hemp/CBD Treats (does not contain THC) can help keep pets calm if they become scared or nervous from the booms and flashes of fireworks. In the event that a pet is frightened, runs away, and becomes lost, microchips and name tags will help reunite you with your pet quick and safely. Having one or the either is great, but having both is the ultimate layer of added protection! Good morning YAPS Supporters, another way you can support our rescue is by creating a Facebook birthday fundraiser. It's really simple to do!

1) Click the link below or access the "Fundraisers" icon on the left side of your homepage. https://www.facebook.com/fundraisers/
2) Click "+ Raise Money" and then “Create a fundraiser.”
3) Type "Yucaipa Animal Placement Society" in the search bar.
4) On the left side of the screen set a monetary goal, an end date and then click "Create."

That's it! Your fundraiser will be posted and Facebook will take care of the rest. So the next time you celebrate your birthday please consider celebrating it with us and help support our rescue operations.

🎉 After 793 days, our #1 guy, our beloved Jingle, has finally found his furrever family—just in time for the holidays! ❤️

Jingle, often overlooked for being large and shy, captured all of our hearts with his gentle soul and sweet spirit. Today, a wonderful family saw exactly what we’ve loved about him every single day and made it official.

This moment is what we work so hard for, and we couldn’t be happier for Jingle as he starts this new chapter filled with love, warmth, and joy. 🏡🐾
