Meet our new foster Sammie Jo!!!!

Sammie Jo is a 35 lb, young border collie mix full of love and energy.

She is very devoted to her family and loves to run and jump. But don't let her athleticism fool you, she can be quiet in the house and is calm and quiet in her crate. She is eager to please and very treat driven.

SammieJo would love to have another doggy friend or two to play with, but she would be just as happy to be your one and only. As always a slow introduction to other dogs to get them acquainted.

Teens would be fine but she is too mouthy for small children. Not sure about cats.

Sammie Jo will not be satisfied without a place to sweep for birds, so a yard is a MUST.

Bruce's story is one of resilience and hope in the face of unimaginable cruelty. This sweet 2-year-old Pit Bull Terrier came to Salt Plains Veterinary Services on Valentine's Day last year in terrible shape. He was found abandoned and severely injured on the side of the road, a victim of circumstances beyond his control.

After months of rehabilitation, Bruce was adopted in April 2024. What seemed like a happy ending quickly turned into another betrayal. His adopter claimed Bruce wasn't getting along with other dogs and needed rehoming. Instead of working with the clinic, they claimed to have found him a new home. Weeks later, Bruce was discovered as a stray, abandoned and alone - again.

Despite this heartbreaking sequence of events, Bruce's spirit remained unbroken. He's still a happy-go-lucky guy who loves people, showing incredible forgiveness after such profound rejection. Bruce has some special needs - he's blind in one eye and nearly deaf - but his capacity for love is boundless. He's fully vetted, neutered, and house-trained.
He has been around kids 10 years and older and has done well with them. We don't know how he'd be around cats or smaller animals as he hasn't been exposed to them yet.

🎉 Happy New Year from The Underdogs Rescue! 🎉As we welcome 2025, we're thankful for the incredible support we've received this past year. To our adopters, fosters, donors, and volunteers—you are the heartbeat of our mission. Your kindness has given so many Underdogs a second chance at life, and we couldn't do this without you.

A huge shout-out goes to our wonderful rescue, shelter, and vet network partners who work —often until exhaustion—to help many of Oklahoma's animals out of dire situations and find them loving homes. Whether it's pulling animals from euthanasia lists at the last minute, coordinating transports, or providing medical care and safe havens, together, we are able to rewrite the stories of countless pets and prove that teamwork truly saves lives. Thank you for everything you do! 🐾

And because no New Year's post is complete without some resolutions, here are a few to get you started:

✨ "Chase the ball only after it's been thrown." – A wise reminder to live in the moment and not stress over what hasn't happened yet.

Fosters or Adopters Needed!

The holidays are over, and we are reaching out once again for your help! It’s the nature of the beast. 😅

Meet Daisy and Cane—two incredibly sweet dogs in need of a loving home. Both have spent their lives outdoors and are eager to learn how to be part of a family. Daisy is around two years old and already spayed, so she is ready for adoption any time. Cane is just under a year old and will need to be neutered before he can be adopted, but he can still be fostered in the meantime.

These two are starved for attention and affection, and they would thrive as family pets. They can be fostered together or separately, depending on what works best for everyone. However, please note that they should not be placed in charge of your livestock. 😬

Adonis is looking for a home for Christmas.

Adonis is the pup we rescued that had mange. Look at him now after loving care from his foster!

Adonis is an 8 month old 48 lb Bully.He’s neutered and chipped.

He’s good with everyone. He has been exposed to cats with no issues. He is not in a house with other dogs but wasn’t reactive around them at an event he was brought to in Oct.

Brodie is in need of a Christmas miracle to find his forever home.

His dream scenario would be to settle into a permanent residence in time for Christmas.

Brodie is an 11-month-old male Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. He has undergone neutering, is fully vaccinated, and has been microchipped.

Brodie has proven to be a great companion for dogs and people, but his interactions with cats have not yet been assessed.

Due to the relocation of his foster mother, finding a suitable permanent or foster home for Brodie is of the utmost importance.

We urgently need help finding rescue or forever homes for two incredible dogs who are being surrendered by their current owner. These sweet souls, Nora and Rudy, deserve a second chance at a happy, loving life.

Meet Nora – Your Playful and Loving Companion!
Nora is a 5-year-old Husky mix with a big heart and an even bigger zest for life! She’s up to date on her DHLPP and rabies vaccinations but is not yet spayed or microchipped. Nora is energetic, affectionate, and loves nothing more than cuddles, toys, and being by your side.
Key Details About Nora:
Personality: High-energy, playful, and loyal.
Habits: Respectful of furniture and household items; not destructive.
Best Home: Calm and positive environment with an active family or individual who enjoys outdoor adventures.
Nora thrives on love and structure and would do best in a home. She came from a home with Rudy and multiple children from 10 and up. She has had some dog aggressive behaviors in the past but owner did not specify on if this is a normal or if it was a situational problem. She has not been cat tested. She’s looking for someone patient and kind to provide the love she deserves.

Key Details About Rudy:
Personality: Fun-loving, curious, and playful.
Compatibility: Loves toys and outdoor activities but requires appropriate chew toys to keep him happy.
Medical Needs: Rudy is significantly underweight and has a serious injury to his back left leg. The wound, which would typically require staples, cannot be closed due to his malnourished state and lack of organic material to heal properly. We are currently treating the area with Alushield to prevent further damage.
Despite his challenges, Rudy is full of life and determination. He needs a loving, patient home that can give him the care, attention, and nourishment he desperately needs to recover and thrive.
