Training is key, this could of turned out a lot worse
Hi, my name is Bella and I would like to tell you a story.
This story is an emotional one that may make you sad & angry, the reason I am telling you this story is so that you will never make the same mistake that this owner did.
You have a responsibility to protect your dog and keep everyone safe around you...
Your responsible for your actions, you can not blame your dog.
Ok here goes 🐾
Mum said to me and my brother Klaus that it was our turn for a walk, as keiva (thank god) was going to go later.
😁 we ran out to the shed for our collars on as normal, then mum put her dog walking boots on ( like horse riding boots so they are good quality ones) and off we went, we were walking today as dad had the dog van.
We passed a home that we have passed hundreds of times, me and Klaus were happy and wagging our tails as we were heading to the fields, when all of a sudden I wasn't happy anymore 🤬 I felt something grab my back, it hurt so much, suddenly mum was going crazy, she spun me and my brother around, ya see, mum doesn't know why she turned her head around but she is so glad she did, as she saw a dog running out of that house that we passed, the dog was in full attack mode, no sound no grrr no bark, and no owner, no collar on, :( mum didn't have time to prepare me and Klaus 😭
The dog grabbed my back, mum acted so fast, she kicked the dog in the mouth so it didn't lock it's jaws on my spine, she spun me and Klaus around so fast so the dog lost its grip on me, I could see my mum had gone into protection mode and I had to listen to her to understand what she needed me to do, I was in trouble and mum knew it, mum spun Klaus around her back and kept him away, mum knew that if she allowed me and Klaus to fight this dog she knew we would all be in big trouble, mum wanted to hang the dog but couldn't as no collar on :( mum couldn't get behind the dog :( , the owner came running over, absolutely no control and no recall 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
I didn't want to fight, I needed to get away from this attack, mum continued to kick this dog in the head and mouth every time it tried to lock on to my legs, over and over and over again, over 30 times mum kicked .....I could see it didn't hurt the dog, but it was enough for it to be knocked so it didn't lock on to my legs , the owner of that dog couldn't get it 😭 why couldn't that owner get its own dog ??? Why did this owner allow his dog to do this and not control it ?
Mum was Well and truly pi**ed off now, she didn't stop kicking at this dog, every time it grabbed my legs I could see mum help me, always trust your owner will protect you.
Mum had no choice, she had to let go of my lead and tell me to run,we do training every day with commands, "run" is one of those commands, so mum let go of the lead and said Bella run, I ran to get this dog off me but it chased me, I am fast so it couldn't catch me, but where do I run to, mum mum I can see the main road what do I do...... I here mum recall me before I got to the main road, mum knew I would of been knocked over If she had not recalled me, recall we do daily and I'm s**t hot at it, so I spun around and ran back toward mum, bastard dog gets me again....mums fast and right back to my side, holding my brothers lead behind her back so he didn't get in the way, she kicks again over and over 🤬 I can feel my legs are sore but I do exactly what mum tells to do
The attack stops 😞 I look around and the owner managed to grab the dog, mums breathing is strange, mum I'm ok don't worry....
Then I see the stupid owner let's go of the dog and it comes right back at my legs biting and biting , mum kicks the dog again and again stopping every attack from ripping me, I could feel the bites but I stayed strong as I knew mum needed me to.
It stopped, the attack stopped again 😭 the stupid owner had got his dog and taken it inside ....... Mum was shaking and breathing strange, never seen mum like this before.... Some people who had seen the attack spoke with me, but mum needed to get me and my brother back home so she could check my wounds out, we have never walked as fast, I knew what mum was doing so no time to sniff or p*e, my little sore legs ran until I reached home, phew I'm home , keiva come help me I need you ❤️
Keiva was checking me all over just like mum was, my back had a large hematoma where the first bite was, my legs were bleeding , my toe hurt, I heard mum say... It's ok it's ok I can fix these, all my wounds were superficial bites thanks to my mum's quick actions
My toe was split down the middle and hurt... It's ok mum said it's ok I can fix this too
Mum got her sprays and potions out to make sure I was ok, the ice packs came out to fix my back.
I was going to be ok ❤️
Mum made sure I was ok then mum left me 😳 you can imagine where my mum went can't you ...... Yeap she had an irresponsible owner to go kick off with .......
Police involved and mum pressed charges , section 3 of the dangerous dog act....
It's taken weeks and weeks for me to be able to tell you my story
I listened and trusted my mum 💯 I knew that I had to as I could tell she was protecting me, please please work with your dog's, if my mum had not of trained me I would of been seriously hurt, or worse. Mums got a few words now.
This was not a fight, this was a dog in full attack mode wanting to kill, and it wanted Bella, i am 5ft5 but have handled rotts for many many years, I never thought I would have to fight a dog to protect my own , I did not think about myself getting hurt and I did not have time to panic, I knew that if I allowed my dogs to fight this dog I would never of been able to stop them and anything could of happened. This attack went on for around 6 minutes, I was exhausted absolutely fked to put it bluntly, I thought my heart was going to explode.
My priority was to protect Bella.
I will never get these images out of my head.
Please please make sure you train your dog, if you have no recall then it stays on lead, if you can not stop them attacking then the dog doesn't come off lead.
We have a responsibility as dog owners to keep our dogs safe and the public safe.
If this had been a child walking a dog, or an old person, or someone who can not act like it did, the dog would of been killed.
15 minutes after this attack 2 schools opened the gates for the kids to come out.... Children age 5 and upwards , it doesn't bare thinking about does it.
Bella is ok, she has fully recovered.
As always with my posts, if reading this post stops you making a mistake .....
