Please join us in welcoming Dr. Sam Brown from Phoenix, an accomplished veterinarian with a strong background in animal care. Dr. Brown earned her Bachelor of Science in Zoology/PreMed from Northern Arizona University and graduated from The University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024. Her 15-year tenure as a veterinary technician and manager preceded her veterinary career. Dr. Brown has provided volunteer services abroad, focusing on small animal surgery, exotic medicine, and community outreach. Her lifelong passion for animal welfare, particularly cats, drives her commitment to helping pet owners provide the best possible care. Dr. Brown's professional focus areas include surgery, emergency care, and feline medicine. She shares her home with nine cats, one small dog, and a horse. Dr. Brown enjoys traveling, exploring farmers markets, running a non-profit, and spending time with family in her free time.

MEET OUR STAFF!
Laura is one of our wonderful CSR'S that has worked at Foothills Animal Hospital for almost a year. Laura is originally from Charleston, SC, but her husband's career as a Marine has led them to live in several different states. With five years of experience in the veterinary field, Laura spent three of those years working as a technician. She has a passion for hiking and outdoor activities, enjoys building Legos, and loves reading. Laura has three cats, one of which likes to go outside and walk on a leash. A fun fact about her is that she has a twin sister!

At Foothills Animal Hospital, compassion is at the heart of everything we do. Our team of dedicated veterinarians, technicians and receptionists are deeply committed to providing the highest level of care for all our patients. We understand that each animal is a beloved member of the family, and we approach every interaction with empathy and respect.

This patient was here for emergency care and spent a few days hospitalized with us. Our technician Nathalie made sure to give him extra love and cuddles while in recovery.

This weeks featured pet is CHOCO! Choco is a 1 year old German Shepherded mix. He loves to be outside playing with his brothers and sisters and loves to play in water. If he could make one wish it would be to cuddle his mom forever ❤

This weeks featured pet is OPIE! Opie the Doberman joined the Amaya family in 2022 after being surrendered due to a broken leg. Despite their efforts to save his leg it ultimately required amputation. However, this has not dampened his spirits. Opie is a happy, super goofy dog who has seamlessly become a beloved member of his family and loved by anyone who meets him!

Meet Cricket 🐾

Cricket came in for her monthly Librela injection. Librela is a simple once a month injection that is used to help alleviate osteoarthritis (OA) pain. Librela stands out from the other medications used for OA pain by being proven as safe and has minimal metabolism by the liver and kidneys. In some pets, signs of improvement can be seen in as early as seven days from the injection.

If you believe your pet is experiencing signs of arthritis schedule an appointment to discuss if Librela is a good option for your pet.
