Forecast ... Hot, swamp @$$ weather for.the next 10 days ... with limited toilet paper taken by what I call Oxygen Thieves aka people with an IQ of a ROCK and a waste of human acceleration ...

Water as well but I drink from tap water sinks and it tastes like sulphuric so I'm fine ...

Schisandra ice cubes with calendula and wild bergamot blooms 🌸🌼🌸
These tart cubes are an especially refreshing way to beat the summer heat, and their pale rose hue beautifully accents any edible flowers you might add.
Schisandra fruits are an important traditional Chinese medicine and are called wu wei zi, or “five-flavored fruit.” They are an adaptogen, antioxidant, cardiotonic, immune tonic, and anxiolytic.
We feature this ice cube recipe, plus more on the medicinal benefits of schisandra, in our Online Herbal Immersion. For details, and to join us:

I was asked two amazing questions this morning

1:How do you get your horses to stay near when you take a lunch break.

2: when eating different grasses from different places do your horses ever get belly aches?

So I thought I’d answer here!

We are one big herd, horses are herd animals and will naturally want to stay with their herd.
We have been living with them (sometimes even in the same pen) 24/7 for 5 years now.
They love their lives on the road and have no need or want to leave.

Our horses have never had trouble with different grasses or hay while on the road (the only hay we’ve had a problem with is “coastal” which seems to be the most common hay in Texas.
It caused Takoda to have an impaction colic)
Although we have never had trouble with grasses and hay we do take precautions to prevent any problems.
They always have free choice hay no matter what, horses need constant food to keep their digestive system moving and to prevent any gut issues.
When buying hay we always get the best quality (no matter the price) and try to stay away from hay with high sugar.
If we do have to get a more sugary hay we will mix it with any older hay we still have.
Even if they are on pasture and could very well live off the grass, I will still give them hay.
We always let the horses eat while on the trail so they can find any medicinal plants they may need. Horses know what they need to stay healthy and will eat what they need.
They also get gut health supplements everyday from Pharm- Aloe and Silver Lining Herbs.

P.S.A.

If your dogs or horses are afraid of fireworks... PREPARE AHEAD OF TIME aka NOW!!!

Call your vet and get the needed meds.

***Also make sure you have them microchipped and current tags with good contact info on them! For your horses, check their corrals and make sure they are safely enclosed.

Vets can get you the necessary medication AHEAD OF TIME to sedate your animals, if necessary. Last year we received "an emergency call" from an individual asking for meds to sedate her horse for the fireworks that evening. First, we are not a vet and do not give out meds to sedate. Second, last minute is not a good time to try and find meds for that evenings fireworks!

Please make plans to stay home or have a pet sitter available to help keep them calm! Keeping dogs inside with music/tv, "thundershirts", meds and company can make a world of difference!

Let's make this 4th of July a safe one for everyone!!!

Goal: No lost or injured pets this year!
