Want less dangerous horses, develop your skills and abilities as a horseman or horsewoman.

That horse that is dull and lacks responsiveness.
That horse that doesn’t have much for brakes.
That horse who is reactive and cant settle.

They’re all DANGEROUS.

Should they all be put down?! No…

What needs to happen is the root cause of the problem needs to be addressed.

There are some horses that’d be better off moving on from this life because often times those extremely dangerous volatile horses are tortured souls within. They became that way one way or another- and usually not on their own. Yet they are very few and far between.

As horse lovers we bring these horses into our lives. As professionals we take on the responsibility for doing what’s best for the horse.

The cop-out is slapping a label of “DANGEROUS” on the animal and passing that horse down the road.

If you’re overfaced, that’s fine. Admit it, find a professional that can help- and DO NOT blame/label the horse.

It’s easy for people to say, “oh that’s just how he/she is..” rather than taking responsibility for helping the horse find a better way of existing physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually.

That label sticks and will follow that horse for years- maybe even the rest of their life! It’ll impact every interaction that horse has with people… and when it’s a negative label it usually makes those interactions less than enjoyable for the horse.

So you need to be real careful about what you say about each horse. What you say may just be a life sentence for that horse.

You get what you focus on.
Want more problems, keep focusing on the problem.
Want a solution?
Focus on the solution.

Develop better skills, deeper knowledge, a greater understanding, clarity in communication. It’s a never ending journey. Focus on that. Quit blaming the horse.

Do your part and hold the horse responsible for their end.
