Louisiana is in the path of a Hurricane expected to make landfall on Wednesday (day after tomorrow)..... PLEASE make sure to get prepared NOW. It’s never easy to say goodbye. Each of our pups have their own stories and have touched different lives through their journeys with us. This week we said goodbye to two beautiful ladies. Both rescued after abandonment and neglect, they both had second chances and new lives. First, we said goodbye to our beautiful Rhodie. It’s a long, sad story & unfortunately it’s a reality of rescue. Despite her rough beginning, she knew love! She lived in a home filled with loving fosters for the last few years of her life. Please remember them in your prayers. It was a difficult situation. Rescue is hard ya'll.
Also, today we found out that our beautiful Cookie passed away. She was diagnosed a few days ago with a fatal condition but in her usual style, she passed on her own without forcing her wonderful adoptive family to make that hard decision. Cookie was a wonderful momma dog who took great care of her puppy and then went on to be a wonderful friend and pup to the Harvey family. Our thoughts & prayers are with them. They recently adopted a little sister for Cookie, Jilly Bean, and we are so thankful that she got to know Cookie before she left. We will see them both again someday. We know they are both running free and whole again with no pain or fear over the rainbow bridge. .

Meet Foxy! Foxy is an approx. 18 month old, 24 pound, border collie mix. She was brave enough to bring her 2 small puppies out of a very dense wooded area in a remote area to get them the help they needed. Now that her 2 puppies are weaned & adopted, Foxy has spent the past several weeks learning how to be a puppy on her own! She started out very skittish and untrusting. She has quickly blossomed into one of the sweetest pups! She loves playing with toys, chasing balls & wrestling with her foster pups! She even snuggles with her foster family! Foxy is extremely smart & very agile. She'd be a wonderful candidate for agility training! Foxy is one of the most athletic pups we've ever seen! Foxy loves other pups & really needs at least one other dog in the home who adopts her! Foxy's adoption fee is $200. She is HW negative, up-to-date on all vaccines, spayed & microchipped. We need help to find a rescue for this sweet Pittie girl and her TEN (10) 3 week old puppies. She was abandoned at a home when the renters left and afterwards had the puppies. A concerned neighbor has been helping feed her and care for the puppies but her Landlord has banned her from bringing them inside her home now. We’ve been sending momma food but We cannot take them in and she needs help finding another rescue to take momma and puppies in! Anywhere in the country and we will find transport for them. Please help us find a place for them! IF you can help please contact Sheba (the sweet neighbor) directly at +1 (225) 470-4785. We simply don’t have the bandwidth to take them and we have our hands full but surely someone who has some time on their hands can start making calls or emails to other rescues around to see if someone can take them?! We’d like to keep them out of the already overcrowded public shelter if possible. They may not make it there. Help!!!!

Puppy mills are large-scale, unregulated, for-profit breeding operations. Puppies from puppy mills are often sick, unsocialized, and live in confined conditions. The adults are forced to breed and are discarded when they are no longer useful. Learn to recognize the red flags; together, we can make a difference and stop the suffering.

Meet Mumford. Many of you may have heard that he was abandoned in a shopping cart at the Zachary Home Depot last week. Thanks to our friends at Porch and Parish for sharing Mumford’s story. I was out of town for the whole thing so I didn’t get to him before he was sent to the shelter at Companion Animal Alliance. Thx to P&P we received apps from several folks willing to foster this sweet boy! Thx to JT Hackett at CAA for taking such great care of Mumford. He’s getting him ready to be picked up for Must Luv Dogs Rescue by his new foster mom, Elisabeth Perry, tomorrow afternoon to begin his brand new life! He hadn’t had a great one this far it seems. At only about 18 months old, he’s already HW positive and was infested with ticks. Thx to the folks at CAA, he was sedated and all were removed. The worst part is that he is extremely skittish and sounds like exhibiting signs of previous abuse. He will need loads of patience & love to gain confidence to enjoy the rest of his life! Thankfully, Elisabeth is a retired nurse with lots of rescue/foster experience and lots of time to give him. We will begin his HW treatment and schedule a neuter surgery. Congratulations to our very own Tammy Wood! Tammy won the 2nd & 3rd place, Basic Category, in the Louisiana Photographic Society 2024 Photo Contest!! Since retirement, Tammy has been studying photography & she generously gives of her time to photograph all of our adoptable rescue dogs so that we can list them on Petfinder to get adopted! On this National Dog Day it’s the same old/same old in the rescue world. Some POS dumped 10 puppies from 2 separate litters off at a local vet clinic on Hwy 10 outside of Clinton. All stuffed into these small wire kennels all night long until They opened this morning. They were driving a red Dodge truck but stuck them just outside of the security cameras. Dr Lisa is one of the kindest vets I know. They are overwhelmed and need help East Feliciana Animal Clinic She’s been kind enough to vaccinate all of them but she’s got no space for the. If you can help get out please call them asap at 225-683-8285. Or please call any other rescues that you know may help? Also if I know who did this please let them know so they can alert the authorities.

Meet TW***IE! How cute is she? Tw***ie is a 7 1/2pound, 4 month old rat terrier/chihuahua mix. Tw***ie was rescued by a dog lover after being dumped behind a business dumpster. She is house trained & crate trained, microchipped, Up-to-date on vaccines, HW negative & on prevention. Her adoption fee is $225 & she will be available for adoption after she receives her 2nd set of puppy shots in a few weeks. Meet our newest rescue! Foxie is a 24 pound wired hair terrier mix. A stray, she was brave (and hungry) enough to bring her 2 puppies out of a very thick wooded area up to a home/camp in a very rural area north of Norwood. Luckily, she found dog lovers with a huge heart who contacted us. They are planning to keep the puppies since they are weaned. She was such a great momma & took great care of her 2 pups through no telling what. She's a little over a year old, HW negative, up-to-date on her vaccines, microchipped and will be spayed next week. Foxie LOVES other dogs & is the SWEETEST! She's fully house trained & we are still working on crate training, but she's doing great! Foxie has some previous trauma surrounding being locked up and/or tied up, but she's relaxing more every single day! She is learning to play and letting us love on her more & more. Foxie is SUPER SMART & IS SOOO CUTE. Aptly named, she looks & moves just like a little fox. She's dark brown/black with white "socks" on each feet & her bushy tail looks like it's been dipped in white paint! She's gonna make an AMAZING pet for some lucky family. She's great with kids too! Once she's spayed, she'll be up for adoption! Her adoption fee is $200. MANY OF YOU May remember the sibling pair of Fallon & Boudreaux. We rescued them last year after finding they'd been tied to trees outside with no cover, no food or water for weeks on end and were starving. We took them in and had took care of their medical needs and they were taken in by an angel in Texas who wanted to LOVE them back to life and work with them physically and mentally. They are now both healthy & doing great, she feels like it's time to separate them. She'd like to keep Boudreaux to work with him for a bit longer. WE are looking for an angel here to take FALLON in. We will arrange to bring her back to Louisiana. She's a beautiful soul. She's kennel/house trained. She's up-to-date on all of her vaccines and is ready to find her very own loving family. 8-17-24 (cruelty under investigation)- Empires is a female mix/ weighs 30 LBS/ is white and brown in color/ is approximately 1.5 years old/ available for rescue now. Vet care has been provided. Our shelter is located in Kaplan Louisiana. HW positive as 8-20-24. Rabies shot given 8-20-24.

We are partnering with the City of Zachary for our Must Luv Mardi Paws Dog Parade Event! It’s gonna be family fun and lots of Mardi Gras fun!!!! Our parade the is “Bark on de Bayou!” Dress your pups up in your favorite costume. Maybe they can be a bottle of hot sauce, a giant shrimp or anything related to the bayou & South Louisiana! Frannie is still on mostly kennel rest for the next few weeks while her leg break continues to heal. We’re fairly certain she was hit by a vehicle because loud car noises freak her out. We’re so thankful to Dr Lisa at East Feliciana Animal Clinic for taking such great care of her. Praying we find the other 2 puppies.

This page is the result of many years of working in animal rescue, volunteering at various shelters and adoption programs, as well as establishing the local lost pets page. Through the FB page, the lost pets page has helped reconnect hundreds of lost pets with their families as well as rescue countless abandoned strays. After working with a local governmental agency to help develop a program for animal control, and being frustrated at the lack of desire and/or dedication of funds to bring that goal to fruition, I, with the support of a couple of friends who share a passion for animal rescue, have formed this 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to helping dogs within our reach. It is truly my belief that we are to be the voice of these precious creatures of God. Thus, our mission statement is “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Proverbs 31:8. God wants us to care for all of his creation with compassion. Dogs have a special place in our lives. They are the MOST loyal & trustworthy of friends. They will love us, no matter who we are or what we do. They are quick to forgive & eager to please. Yet, when they are lost, in need, or suffering from abuse or neglect, they have no voice to ask for help. They have no feet to walk for help. They have no power to knock on our door to report it. We have to be their eyes, ears and voice. That's what this group is all about! We hope you'll join us as a volunteer, foster, donor or just a FB follower! Thank you!
