We are bark to business here at Constellation K9. First off we have Chuckles, a former Dante's Hope boy who needs some work on his manners! Chuckles showed his new parents just how exceptionally smart he is during our class. He is going to be a breeze to train now that we've figured out his motivators and I'm excited for his parents.

Lira and I went for another walk today. She's learning to sit on cue with distractions, and I started teaching her a spin today! We've been building a good bond, so on Thursday Lira and I are going to try practicing some crate games. Wish us luck!!

We've restructured our Training Tuesdays into Training Days! Constellation Canine will now be at Barking Lots Boarding & Daycare two times a week for day training. This service is available per week or in multi-week packages.

Two training sessions a week will help your pup stay on track with their obedience, and homework ensures that you, as the owner, stay involved in their progress at home. Consistency is key for both you and your dog, so keeping up with our handouts will help reinforce what they've learned.

We cannot wait to work with your dogs!

For day school today Lily and I headed back to Zachary Pet Supply to practice meeting new people... She has not quite worked up to saying hi to anyone other than the employees but Lily has gotten comfortable enough in the store to know she's safe. I am so proud of how far she's come in a short amount of time.

Little Bear had a follow up lesson today. We have been trying to teach him a proper place command but at about 8 months old the teenager is strong in this big boy!

This is one of the big reasons we encourage continuing lessons after puppy class. That perfect puppy that sat every time you asked starts testing to see if you'll give them a treat while they do other things, or worse yet they completely ignore you! Consistency is key at this age, and sometimes it helps to have a trainer for all those adolescent puppy problems.

Training Services will be closed Tuesday(01/21) and Wednesday(01/22) this week due to weather. We will also be closed partially on Saturday (01/25) for the dog show in Alexandria, LA.

Puppy Class sign ups will be post-poned until the last week of January or early February due to the constant incliment weather. Our Central, LA location is outdoor only and we don't want anyone getting too cold during class!

On December 21st, members of our club earned their American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Urban title! It all starts with basic obedience! Classes start on January 16th at 7:00 PM at Blue Cross on Bluebonnet. Registration starts at 6:30.
