I would like to have someone get a message to my family. “I want to go home - it’s no longer funny - I have learned my lesson- I won’t run away anymore - I will eat what is put in front of me - I will only request two treats a day - I will never want to be walked during any sports broadcasting and I promise I will never p**p on the floor again”. These folks are wonderful here at the Animal Shelter Society. They really have cared for me and the lady who runs this place 😳 - well she makes sure things get done. KK is officially ready for adoption today! He needed entropion surgery which went great but also was dealing with severe allergy to, more than likely, fleas. We applied Bravecto as he had a lot of scabbing and waited for him to clear up! And he did. Look how awesome he looks on the moon 😅. He’s super cute right? He hasn’t lost those adorable Tom cat cheeks either. Seems the FIV+ adult males tend to keep them. Anyway who wants an FIV+ love muffin?? We don’t want to put him in a pet store. He doesn’t like cages and I don’t want to stress him out and make him sick in a store. KK is only 3 years old and a very sweet boy! He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. FIV+, but FELV NEGATIVE. He loves being pet aggressively. And of course loves wet food and catnip toys. He was extremely happy with his yeowww catnip banana toy! FIV+ cats who are friendly CAN be around other non-FIV+ cats. KK is friendly and kind of ignores all other cats. We always recommend proper, slow, introductions to other cats, but that is with all cats. Not just FIV+ ones.

All FIV+ kitties are a $50 adoption fee with Mandatory first vet visit within 30 days of adoption to establish vet care if/when needed. Must provide proof of vet visit within 6 weeks of adoption. This is typically not a requirement, however our new rule is for all FIV+ cats, vet care must be established within 4 weeks of adoption which is the reason for our lower adoption fee. We will follow up.

For all FELV+ cats (Not KK) (adoption fee $25) vet care MUST be established within 7-10 days of adoption of any FELV+ adult and must have proof of first vet visit already set up upon adoption. Proof of completed visit is due by the end of day 10. We will follow up.

Harmony Vet Care does free first wellness checks for newly adopted pets within 30 days. They are also the ones who cared for KK. Other vets also do free first visits for pets that can easily be found online. The lower adoption fees cover typical exam fees either way and more in the case of FELV+ cats. Please understand we are not trying to be difficult, but having an established vet early on in adoption of FIV+ cats or FELV+ cats is extremely important for future health.
