I am very excited to tell you that something amazing has happened! I joined The Art Loft!! I have been exhaustively busy moving stuff. (SO much stuff! Where does it come from??). The lovely ladies here have been so welcoming and kind. We are finally settling down to creating and I can hardly wait to see their processes... so much beautiful work comes out of here and I get to be here to see it!

We don't have set hours but you are welcome to come to the studio to see us work (message or call me to make sure I'm here). I still have yarn to sell-the good stuff-and towels and blankets...and I am getting my first full size weaving class together. And when I say full sized, I mean the loom. The class size, well, I have two for students.

February 7 is First Friday. We will be open 5pm-8pm and Designs by Lori will be the guest artist and Mark Snider will be providing music. I know it's cold, but the studio is warm!

This is a difficult post to make but will not be a surprise to many. I am closing Galloping Horse Handcrafts at the Smith House. The profit margin on hand made items is small, the cost of materials and all other expenses are high. I made adjustments along the way to try to keep the doors open, but ultimately it was not enough. I am sad, but I have met so many great people that I can’t regret any of it.

I am still weaving. I still have yarn and looms for sale. I will still teach people to weave. I just don’t know where that will be yet.

Thank you for all of your support and kindness. It was noticed and appreciated.

I finished the coverlet. Or "yardage". I have been lurking in a group called Sewing for Weavers. I have not tried to sew with anything I've woven and this group has very good suggestions for getting started. The stakes feel really high-I usually make a mess my first try anyway-so I am waffling back and forth. Reminding myself that no decision IS a decision!🤪
