Adopt Doby
The Animal Shelter Society works diligently to make sure that the care that our animals receive is of high and healthy standards. A few years ago, strict protocols were put in place so that the care these animals receive is not only for their physical needs, but also for their mental health status as well. Our Animal Care Manager and Chief Veterinarian do medical checks on our animals daily and educate our staff on the importance of the care that they receive. Our Chief Vet is very adamant that if individuals would practice strong spay/neutering practice and families to make arrangements to have their animals cared for - rescues would not be dealing with the overpopulation & issues in The Shelter.
Mr. Doby and his brother were brought into our shelter one year ago. The sibling was adopted after both of them were released medically. Doby is being raised in an adoption organization. He is a timid dog and needs someone who will give him patience and time to get to know him. He is dog selective which means he has issues with some dogs but not all. He truly started to deteriorate when his dear friend, our Shelter Ambassador Miss Tess, passed away last year. He has been lost ever since. This dog deserves a chance. We promote adopting and not shoping as well as spay / neutering your pets. ❤️🐾

A tail wag can make a big difference. Our shelter animals brought joy and comfort to the residents/clients at The Carr Center, Inc. and Cedar Hill Care Center today. It’s amazing to see the positive impact these visits have on both the animals and the people they come in contact with. Our shelter is proud to offer this valuable service to local assisted-living facilities, knowing that most residents had to give up their animals due to various reasons. Samson was treated a hamburger for being such a good boy 🐾♥️
