We were unable to pick up any placements on Saturday, but Tux managed a win in one of the amateur trials today.

We want to congratulate Mark Nicol and Loren Troutt for placing🥈 at Nationals in doubles pointing with Keno and Genie! They make a great team and we are so proud that Mark is running a Legacy pup.

Keno is from our Legend x Xena litter and is only 18 months old.

We are so happy to announce that our sweet Xena is now a NATIONAL CHAMPION. 🏆

Saturday and Sunday we had runs that were not really spectacular, but enough to get us in the finals. Yesterday we had the opportunity to compete against 29 of the best dogs under the age of 4 in the country. At that phase, all of the dogs are great dogs so you need a little bit of luck. It just so happened that everything lined up and went our way making Xena the 2025 UFTA Amateur National Champion. We are truly humbled and grateful. 🙏🏼

We wish to honor all of the great dogs and handlers that we were able to compete against. Much respect to all of them!

We also want to say a great big “Thank You!” to all of those who helped us along the way whether by helping us train, letting us trial with you, teaching us the nuances of the “game” and encouraged us at the times that we struggled.

We continue our journey today with Doubles qualifying and Open division qualifying begins on Thursday. We will keep those of you follow us up to date. Thanks to everyone for all your support!

We traveled up to Performance Bred Golden Retrievers this weekend for the SOUTH EAST CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES finale.

We didn’t have a great showing (7th of 35 dogs) but it was just enough points for us to earn 🥈 in the standings over the course of 7 trials making Xena the SEC Series Reserve Champion. 🏆

We wish to congratulate Jason Hanley on winning it with Cowboy and Billy Brooks for wining 3rd with Cocoa.

We truly enjoyed all of the competition and camaraderie over the last few months. Thanks to all who made it possible! Bonnie Fain Roach did such a great job putting it all together and keeping us organized. All the trial host treated us very well. Already looking forward to next years series of trials.

After a few weeks off we were back at it this past weekend for the Eastern Carolina Field Trial Club trials at Cottle Branch Shooting Preserve.

On Saturday, Tux was able to win one of the Amateur trials. 🥇

On Sunday, Xena won the Open trial. 🥇

Xena’s win allowed her to earn her second Open Championship, making her a 4x UFTA Champion. 🙏🏼

Next weekend we head to PBG Kennels in Stoneville, NC for the SOUTH EAST CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES finale. We look forward to being able to compete with some of the best dogs and handlers in the region, and getting the opportunity to hang out with good people and good friends!

We traveled down to Alabama this weekend for ABDF Nationals. We were able make the finals, and are thankful for that. We actually had the fastest run of the day in qualifying at 3 minutes 37 seconds. However, both Xena and I made some mistakes in our finals run and weren’t able to make it happen this time. Nonetheless, it was really fun getting to compete with some of the best dogs and handlers in the country.

We wish to offer a very big CONGRATULATIONS to our buddy Loren Troutt on his National Championship with with Copper. He had two incredible runs in the finals (2 minutes and 3 minutes) and they are very deserving of the win!

We wish to congratulate Scott Smith on his placement with Max yesterday! 🥉

Max is a Legacy pup from our Slick x Lucille litter back in the Spring. Placing in only his second trial and at only 7 months old is pretty special. We wish Scott and Max the very best moving forward!

We had the pleasure of traveling up to Smith Mountain Game Farm in Virginia this weekend. Scott Smith put on a GREAT trial! Great food, great plaques, great hospitality… It was absolutely first class. Thank you Brother!
