It has been a while since I posted. I made the tough decision to change jobs this month, and it hasn't been easy, roller coaster of emotions lately and not enough time for much. My newest rescue, Odin the bunny, went to the vet on the 10th and we learned he wasn't born without back feet, they were mauled off and that news broke my heart. Odin is a fighter for sure and I am a proud bunny mom, doing all I can to help his wounds heal and give him a great life.
I am also fostering 2 kittens for a new rescue (Scarlett's Cat Sanctuary) and they have both been adopted to the same home and leave towards the beginning of October, it has been fun having kittens in this busy household again, but also a ton of work!
My morning routine has been this:
5:45am my alarm goes off, I have to leave by 7am
1. Make sure reptile lights are on
2. Check on Odin and give him food and fresh water
3. Kittens wet food, dry food, water and 1 is on meds
4. Feed my dog, let her out
5. Feed and water my other bunnies who live on the porch
6. Check on all personal cats, make sure their water is good for the day
7. Turn on lights for 3 fish tanks and feed them
8. Get myself ready, have breakfast & coffee, pack lunch and leave
My new job is from 7:30am - roughly 6:45pm, I get home around 7pm and am hardly awake and have to repeat most of the morning routine. Thank goodness this job has only been a few days a week, soon it will be 4 days a week though and I'm not at all ready for it. Thankful I have an amazing fiance who helps with a lot lately, I would be lost without him. It is a crazy life being animal crazy, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
Today is my day off, I had to bring my rescue kitty Neo in for a haircut, he got matted and hates being brushed, I am hoping the groomer is able to save him from needing a lion cut, I can't wait to see him! He is so good in the car, I so wish I could know his story. I rescued him just over a year ago, he was close to death and severly matted, he had to get a full lion cut back then and his fur has grown back so beautiful, but gets matted so easily, he has come such a long way. He is such a sweet boy as long as you aren't brushing him. I wish his groomer luck! I will post a before and after photo here later on. :)
