I have found so many lost animals, I can't even give you a number, but, I can give you some advice. Where I live there is a law when it comes found animals, you can either hold onto the animal and do the legal stray hold (give an owner time to claim it) or turn it over to animal control/humane society where they do the hold....

Neo thankfully didn't need to be shaved and got a nice haircut last week! 🙂
Here's a photo taken the other day, the 2 kittens are current fosters, Galaxy the tiger and Calliope the calico. I was in a hurry to get them ready for their spay and neuter appointments so fed them their wet food in the kitchen and all the other cats were so jealous that they got wet food so early in the morning!
Other cats pictured are Jujubee on the step stool, Harrison the orange and white on the floor, Neo laying against the cupboards, and Fluffy front left.
Galaxy and Calliope are adopted and go to a new home together soon! They'll be greatly missed!

Meet Odin, my newest pet. If you look closely you can see why this poor boy is considered special needs. Odin was born in April of 2022, he is a continental giant mixed with flemish giant, so he is going to be a big boy! He is the only survivor of his siblings and mom as a dog killed them, and sadly took Odin's rear legs and tail....

It has been a while since I posted. I made the tough decision to change jobs this month, and it hasn't been easy, roller coaster of emotions lately and not enough time for much. My newest rescue, Odin the bunny, went to the vet on the 10th and we learned he wasn't born without back feet, they were mauled off and that news broke my heart. Odin is a fighter for sure and I am a proud bunny mom, doing all I can to help his wounds heal and give him a great life.
I am also fostering 2 kittens for a new rescue (Scarlett's Cat Sanctuary) and they have both been adopted to the same home and leave towards the beginning of October, it has been fun having kittens in this busy household again, but also a ton of work!
My morning routine has been this:
5:45am my alarm goes off, I have to leave by 7am
1. Make sure reptile lights are on
2. Check on Odin and give him food and fresh water
3. Kittens wet food, dry food, water and 1 is on meds
4. Feed my dog, let her out
5. Feed and water my other bunnies who live on the porch
6. Check on all personal cats, make sure their water is good for the day
7. Turn on lights for 3 fish tanks and feed them
8. Get myself ready, have breakfast & coffee, pack lunch and leave

My new job is from 7:30am - roughly 6:45pm, I get home around 7pm and am hardly awake and have to repeat most of the morning routine. Thank goodness this job has only been a few days a week, soon it will be 4 days a week though and I'm not at all ready for it. Thankful I have an amazing fiance who helps with a lot lately, I would be lost without him. It is a crazy life being animal crazy, but I wouldn't change it for the world.

Today is my day off, I had to bring my rescue kitty Neo in for a haircut, he got matted and hates being brushed, I am hoping the groomer is able to save him from needing a lion cut, I can't wait to see him! He is so good in the car, I so wish I could know his story. I rescued him just over a year ago, he was close to death and severly matted, he had to get a full lion cut back then and his fur has grown back so beautiful, but gets matted so easily, he has come such a long way. He is such a sweet boy as long as you aren't brushing him. I wish his groomer luck! I will post a before and after photo here later on. :)

It has been a bit since I posted, my life is so busy it's hard to run a page, but I'm going to give this one my best shot.

So updates:
Sonny the Blue Heeler ended up at Harbor Humane Society, and he was adopted after a little time there! 🎉

The remaining baby bunnies all went to Dutch Village in Holland where they'll either become part of their family or maybe even have a shot at getting a forever home. I wish I could've done more for them, but I had them in little cages for way too long and couldn't let them free roam much or give them the attention they deserved. Back in April I was fostering 13 bunnies!! 8 of those bunnies found great homes with the help of Piper's Palace Cat rescue in Zeeland, so we did pretty good! Okay 7 found homes lol, 1 never left as I kept her, foster fail! 😊

August 25th my fiance and I drove a little over an hour to pick up the newest addition named Stumpy.
She's a special needs rabbit, only has her 2 front feet to scoot around on. She's around 4-6months old and is a Flemish Giant mixed with Continental Giant, she has a chance to get BIG! She is used to wearing diapers (I've got very little experience with diapers and it's going to be a learning process to get them on her) and is p*e pad trained. I'm told she's a girl, but we'll see what the vet says September 10th as I am unable to look down there good. The goal is to get her wheels. The old owner did the best she could at giving Stumpy a great beginning at life, she bred Stumpy's parents and unfortunately a dog killed mom and her remaining siblings so Stumpy is all that was left. I was told she was born with only 2 legs so I don't think the dog had anything to do with it. We made the vet appt and as soon as they could get me in was Sept 10th and I'm eager to see what my vet says. I'm gonna do my best with this sweet girl and give her the life she deserves. I hope you guys all follow along on this adventure, I'll post as much as I can! I'll add a photo of her with this post. ❤️ 🐇

The bunnies didn't get any applications at the adoption event we went to. 😕
Going to try to get more photos of them today. I've had a very busy pet sitting scheduled lately.
Contact Piper's Palace Rescue in Zeeland for an application.
5 boys left. The 2 black ones have such a curious personality!

Onyx - Black with white on chest
Obsidian - Black
Bruiser - Gray and white (looks like he has bruises on his eyes)
Hershey - Brown and white with heterochromia
Cinder - Gray with white spot on nose

DOB 4.18.2022
4 months old already!

I was just made aware of dumped rabbits at the Sp*edway off of Hayes st in Grand Haven. I don't think I'll have time to get out that way today, but if anyone is in that area and sees them, please let me know. I have nowhere to contain them, but would like to find somewhere for them to go and help get them off the streets.

Today's meet up was a no go unfortunately. Him and the other dog just didn't hit it off well.
Did fine on the 2hr road trip.
So once again we are looking for a home for Sonny.
Blue heeler with a bit of some other breed.
Not fixed.
2 years old in October (10/08/2020)
Had first set of shots in 2020, no papers.
Fully potty trained.
Appears to have had the tip of his tail broken some time ago, doesn't bother him, but the tail is kinked near the end.
Likes to swim, fine in the car.
Good with kids from what I've been told.
Not good off leash unless in a fenced in area.
Not good with small animals (bunnies, cats) Was okay with cats, but got hit by one and has a hard time letting that go so now when he sees them he barks like mad.
Takes a moment to get used to strangers, especially men. More of a girls dog.
Has done fine with a small spayed female dog, lived with an unfixed female dog, but when he met the unfixed male dog today he wanted to play and the other dog didn't and they snarled at one another.
On walks he barks at everyone and everything.
You can definitely see he's a herding dog in the way he acts and he's VERY high strung. Lots of energy.
When food is involved he will sit, lay down and knows touch command.
Not too bad on the leash unless there's distractions.
Kennel trained.
He's been flea treated.

I'd like to find him a home with someone experienced with the breed or high strung breeds like him.

Rehoming fee applies.
Comes with:
Nice quality leash and harness
Choke collar
Brush and nail clippers
Dog bed
Pj's
Several toys
What I have left of food/treats

For an additional fee ($25) I'll give a bark collar we just got (he hasn't been too bad with barking) I just use the vibration/beep setting while walking him.

Located in the Holland/Zeeland area, might be willing to meet up somewhere within an hour or so.

Message page for more information.

Meet Sonny
An almoat 2 year old blue heeler.
I took him in after his old owners couldn't give him the attention he needs.
Blue heelers are very high strung, this young boy needs a lot of one on one attention and training.
Tomorrow we head out on an hour drive to meet a possible new mommy and doggy brother who is the same breed and age as him. We are hoping it goes well. This new mommy is a manager and trainer at a doggy daycare so if it works out that means this boy is hitting the jack pot! She also lives on a horse farm, so he'll have space to run his heart out!
Wish Sonny luck on this hopefully new adventure!

Hello, welcome to my Advocate page. The purpose of this page is to be an advocate for animals needing a safe place to go, sometimes I can help and be that safe haven, other times I'll collect your information and get you resources. Since I was young I've been a big part of the rescue world, and with that I get tons of messages of people needing help with pets being displaced, so I'm hoping to direct all of that to this page.
Thank you.
