If you are interested in a Doodle, ( poodle mixed with another breed.) please do a TON of reading. Cute and fluffy, these dogs are crossed with a non sporting group to herding group , sporting group, working group and more. You are taking a poodle and adding a variety of groups. Each cross presents its own set of challenges.

If you are looking at the coat, that’s your first mistake. The breed is what you need to be able to handle. If you are in an apartment, an Aussiedoodle will go crazy. They need non stop stimulation. This isn’t to say it’s not impossible to do, depending on the amount of each cross is in the dog. Bernadoodles can be active. Reading about each breed on its own can help understand the cross you may be getting.

Again, cute adorable and lots of grooming ahead. Do your research. Are you able to commit to the years of grooming ($1200 a year), training ($800+ first year ) supplies $550 a year) dog food ($ 700 a year) veterinarian care ($2000 first year, $500 every year after ) pet insurance ($400 a year). —- this is an average.

Doodles can be -
Jumpy
Hard to leash train
Stubborn
Mouthy
Vocal
Hard to groom
Difficult to train

Be smart. Please be ready. Bringing a puppy home is a lot of work.
It’s a 12 year or more commitment.
You’ll be spending $33,400 or more for everything listed above.

A lot of seniors like to get big dogs and realize it is a lot of work. If you are 60 and older, foster for your local shelter or rescue. See if you are truly ready.

Do not look at fluff, look at the time, cost and training these dogs will need.
Every single dog can have a rough past so don’t assume that doodles are easy going.
Commit to training, structure and leadership.
You’ll be happy and so will your dog.

It is almost Independence Day! Fourth of July festivities are fun and filled with celebrations, however, we must remember to keep our pets safe and happy. 🐕 🐈

Reminders for the holiday:
👉 Take your pet for a walk or play with them to get some energy out before the celebrations begin.
👉 Don’t leave your pet outside during fireworks. Place them inside with food, water, and maybe their favorite toy.
👉 Keep party food and alcohol away from your pet.
👉 Make sure your pets are wearing ID tags and their chip information is up-to-date.
👉 Clean up hazardous foods, drinks, and other items immediately after the festivities.
