For those of you who have been following Baileys progress, the first two pictures are prior to surgery and the last picture is yesterday resting comfortably after doing fantastic in surgery!
You can see a lot of the swelling is gone as well as the bruising and irritation. She’s on the right track!

Ashton was originally rescued by our group after he was taken into Animal Control from hoarding situation. He went to a foster home who we thought loved him dearly, and adopted him.
Fast-forward not even a year, and she had moved to Chicago and threw him out in the hallway at her apartment building and then moved. The Humane Society in Chicago ended up, calling us because he was microchip to our organization.
We don’t ever give up on our animals.
A wonderful woman picked him up and got him back to us.
This is the kind of group that we are.

Bailey’s surgery to repair her shattered leg and remove a zipper from inside her stomach went great!
She is eating now, the swelling has gone down, and she is already trying to use her leg. All great news!
We still need to raise a ton of money so any donations that you can give to help us offset this cost would be fantastic.
This hospitalization literally saved her life. ❤️

If you see an animal out in the cold tonight, please give it at least temporary warm shelter.
There are so many lost cats that will not survive tonight without help.
Please don’t just post a picture of them and ask for someone to come and help. Put them somewhere safe during these frigid temps.

Bailey, our little fighter that was hit by a car and left for dead in the ditch got good news today!
The surgeon is confident he can help her keep her leg!
They are also able to get it done today. She will have a rod and a plate but she gets to keep her leg so that’s great!
She’s at the emergency hospital still and needs to have the surgery there because she is still a borderline candidate for a blood transfusion. 
Hopefully things go really well during surgery and she won’t need it but if she should, she’s in the right place.
As we expected, her bill is likely going to be well over 10K at this point. 
Some may say a dog isn’t worth that much but we don’t see a monetary value on a beloved animal.

Morning update-
While one of our pups went home to her loving parents this morning, the other remains hospitalized.
Bailey had some internal bleeding after being hit by a car which they believe to be in her leg and she is borderline on the need of a transfusion. However, her levels have now stayed stable, so they are hopeful the bleed has stopped. 
She will continue to be hospitalized until tomorrow at which point a surgeon will evaluate her condition to see if her leg can be repaired or if it needs to be amputated and if she is stable enough to do so. She also apparently has a metal zipper in her stomach, which is now starting to move so that may need to be removed as well.
This bill is already estimated at between 4 and $6000 and that’s not even including surgery. We really need help badly.
This is not funds that we had available but how could we not help her? She was a dog that we had a previously adopted out and her parents already spent all the money that they had on their CareCredit trying to save her. She is happy and sweet and she deserves this care.

When it rains it pours.
We have not one, but 2 dogs getting critical care in 2 different ER’s.
Both of these dogs have owners who ran out of funds. 😢
The first dog pictured got hit by a car after she got loose, and someone left her for dead. Luckily a drone found her the next day, but she is badly hurt. Despite that she is still giving kisses
The second dog has an illness called hemorrhagic gastroenteritis, which can be fatal if left untreated.
They both absolutely needed immediate help.
This is going to cost thousands of dollars, so we really really really need the communities help to raise the funds.
These dogs are loved.

Kyle is a sweet lover of food looking for an adoptive home that will promise to give him canned cat food daily. It’s his favorite thing. 🥰
This little handsome boy was found as a stray with the injured tail so he has about half of a tail. It’s quite cute and it doesn’t seem to bother him.
He gets along with other kitty friends as well they’re nice to him.
He’s a young handsome boy who is ready to be kept safe and loved!

The shelter animals need your help!
Last year Fur-Ever Home Rescue started thinking outside of the box to help the animal welfare community as a whole. One particular impound in Minnesota doesn’t have easy access to vet care, and would have animals sitting for sometimes months waiting for Rescue. We started a program to help spay and neuter these animals and vaccinate them to see if that would help them find Rescue placement more readily. Often times it did!
We plan to continue that mission this year
Our veterinarian partner has offered discounted services specifically for this and will work them in throughout their surgery schedule as they are able.
We need to raise $200 per dog and $100 per cat.
Sadly, it’s the only way to get a lot of the large breed dogs out of the shelter and they not is easily placeable cats out of the shelter.
Please consider a donation to help animals who found themselves in a situation they didn’t deserve find a brighter future.
This isn’t about what rescue you are with. Many rescues benefited from this last year by getting animals that were fully vetted.
This is about the animals, so no matter who you are with help us raise funds to get these animals out of impound and stay safe and healthy while they are in shelter.

Animals at PUPS are in urgent need of your help.

As you may know, veterinary care costs have skyrocketed, making it harder for rescues to help animals in need at PUPS. In the Twin Cities, it’s become increasingly difficult to secure veterinary appointments, especially for critical procedures like spay/neuter surgeries. Unfortunately, without these surgeries, many of our precious animals can't get the chance to go to rescue, where they can begin the search for their forever homes.

Thanks to Fur-Ever Home Rescue, we have access to discounted spay/neuter appointments, but we need your donations to make it possible. Every dollar raised will go directly to providing these essential surgeries for animals currently waiting at the local impound. Without these funds, they may remain stuck at the pound, until they mentally crack.

Punkin is back at the doctor today for her first bandage change.
Due to the nature of her injury, and the type of repair she needed she will have to be sedated for this because the leg cannot move during the bandage change.

Ash and Keri are two amazingly sweet little kitties that we saved when they were found on a truck. They were bottle fed as babies, but their adoption timeline was delayed.
Ash recently underwent a CT scan only to see that he has a partially paralyzed larynx. 
What does this mean?
When he purrs really hard, he has to open his mouth to breathe better.
We would love to see them go to a home together to give our sweet boy another year or so to see if he heals. If not, we would be looking at potential surgery, which we would be happy to cover.

What does having a sanctuary mean?
It means commitment.
Punkin has been with our organization for about 11 years. We took her when her previous rescue Happy Tails, was going to euthanize her. They had placed her in an adoption center for far too long, and it mentally deteriorated her and she began biting. She’s also not a fan of peeing in the litter box but prefers pads. We could care less.
Punkin also had some sort of previous leg injury that we don’t know much about. Fast forward to now and she injured a tendon. It’s an eight week recovery but today she had surgery with a specialist.
It cost over $2000 but she is our responsibility and we will do whatever she needs us to do to for her no matter the cost.
why we need your help…
The Rescue community is her family. We count on donations to take care of these animals.
Even if you can only help a little, it can add up to be a lot.
I would also like to give a huge thank you to our caretakers and our volunteers at our sanctuary who take such good care of our animals.
