As this week comes to a close, we reflect on such a wonderful new experience with the Retired Racehorse Project Thoroughbred Makeover. We bought these 2 young prospects in January hoping to train them for the show hunters and we successfully accomplished that goal! There were definitely setbacks along the way and we weren't alone in that similar journey of ups and downs to get to this competition.

Strike It Indy, known to us as Tilly, is a 2021 Kentucky bred filly who has been primarily trained by Brooke Sarber Esposito under the direction of Katie Heim took on this challenge as a team and ended up 12th in the preliminary competition out of 42 competitors and 2nd in the team challenge!

Bratly, known to us as Harry, is a 2020 Indiana bred gelding who has been trained by Katie Heim ended up 23rd in the preliminary competition after finally figuring out how to jump in July and successfully competing in his first show at 2' in September!

Both riders had the opportunity to clinic with Sissy Wicks on Friday in the Stonelea ring at the Kentucky Horse Park to learn some more knowledge to take home and continue producing these talented young prospects for the hunter world. It was an honor to ride under the direction of Sissy!

Thank you to the entire team at the Retired Racehorse Project for such an inspiring year event for such a wonderful breed of horse! These thoroughbreds are something special and we will definitely be back!

We had such a great week V!!! As always, the highs came with lows, but we all win in my book! Here are the highlights!

🏆Cabalistic RHF Winner of the three year old hunter breeding and Champion Best Young Horse
🥈After Dark second in the three year old hunter breeding and Reserve Champion Best Young Horse
🎖️Chantilly Lace and Brooke Esposito placed in almost all their classes together for their first rated show together!
🎖️Silver Rebel and Caroline Allen placed in almost all of their classes and were 7th in the Brave Horse Derby!
🎖️RH Rebelaire and Finley Hurley had great rounds in the .80m for a second and fifth places finishes over the weekend! RH Rebelaire and Katie Heim moved up to the 1.00/Take 2 TB with 2 second place finishes, won the .90/.95m outreach optimum time, and came home reserve champion in the .90m jumpers!
🥇Rebel Ryder and Finley Hurley won the .75m optimum time and had great ribbons in their other classes!
🥇Tangled Up In Blue and Hailey Hurst taking home top three in almost all of her classes and bringing home a 🥈place in the Brave Horse Derby!
🏆 Tangled Up In Blue and Maggie Hurst brought home all blues and a champion in the walk trot hunter poles! Maggie's first time back in the show ring in years!!!
