Today we listened to our bodies and switched things up. This rider requested to walk in the sand, so we snagged another lead rope and taught him how to lead Coco. It not only added a new skill onto the list of things we are learning, it also helped build his confidence. There are endless ways to learn with horses!

When it’s time to come in for work 😁🐴
We see so many physical and mental benefits of regular turnout (pastures time) for the horses. When it’s time to come in, they are *almost always* happy to 🥰😆

Clinical Exercise Physiology at the farm?! Yes! In our opinion, it’s the best environment to work towards physical goals and gains 💪🚶🏻♀️
We have a certified personal trainer who also has their MS in Clinical Exercise Physiology 📚🤗
Here’s what we are working on in this clients session⬇️
🪣🧑🌾Farmers carries and asymmetrical loading targets balance and strengthening of walking gait and core.
🐴The core trainer helps us motor plan mounting and dismounting the horse, engage posture, challenge balance, increase range of motion and hip mobility.
This all sets the first ride up for safety and success!

28 years young! Tash is such a good teacher and very happy with her new family and job 🐴💕👏
Kiddos first time cantering AND it’s over ground poles!! Good work, team!!
Working *with* your horse. 🐴
It’s all about establishing a relationship. 💕
You don’t need a lead rope for your horse to listen to you. They want to listen. They want to connect.
At the end, Music could have walked away or shifted his focus. Instead, he waits for me and what’s next.
Treats help 😋😆
Morning chores at the barn 🐴🧹
We do the same routine and care 365 days of the year!
Horses are generally happier when they know what to expect, and, quality care is very important to us.
Barn chores are never ending, but the finished product after morning chores is so satisfying ✅👏

There are endless ways to work through something with a horse and rider! This rider has been going through a bit of a nervous stretch while sitting still on Coco. Today we utilized a puzzle to sneak in some meaningful and positive pausing during our ride. 😉 Sometimes some creativity is just what we need!

Does Cornerstone teach adults?! Yes, yes we do! Adults come to us for several reasons. This client’s kiddos ride and she wanted the whole family to learn and share the experience together! Now, it’s a hobby, therapeutic outlet, and way of exercise for her. 👏🐴
Good morning from the barn ☀️🍁🐴
We love our morning “hellos” and routine 😊💕
Ground pole variation for this week’s lessons 🐴

Scooping poop, despite popular opinion, CAN be fun. 💩 Like many things in life, it can also serve lots of different functions. ESPECIALLY for kids that struggle with delays in motor skill function. For many, it can actually provide a huge sense of accomplishment and autonomy.
Pro tip: It’s also a great way to sneak in some vestibular input. That pitchfork is heavy! 😉

While, sometimes, instructing from the middle of the arena is appropriate, you’ll most likely see us moving around the arena with horse and rider. It creates for a more intimate and calm environment. 🐴🚶🏻♀️👏

Observe. Interact. It’ll be more impactful than you’d imagine.
