As the water begins to recede in Western North Carolina, the health of animals who have been in floodwaters becomes a concern.

Here are some tips from the Texas Animal Health Commission on best practices for your livestock: https://www.ncagr.gov/tahc-brochure-animal-health-flood-tips/open

Also remember, if you are in need of any agricultural supplies (feed, hay, fencing needs, etc.), donations are available for pick-up at the following sites: https://www.ncagr.gov/livestockdisasterhelp

WNC Regional Livestock Center is trying to get the word out that they have tons of supplies that have been donated and stalls for horses and livestock. Please let folks know that they can get donated hay, grain, etc. And if they text, the livestock center will figure out a way to get supplies out to people who are cut off and help get animals evacuated.

Our Story

We are a small 8 acre farm located in Westfield, Indiana- just northwest of Indianapolis. On the farm we keep a flock of around 30 registered Shetland sheep which we breed, raise and show all across the country. We also sell and show raw Shetland fleeces.

Also on the farm we have two llamas (George & Honeydew), three Great Pyrenees (Charlotte, Louis, & Beau), two mini horses (Sugar & Spice), and two barn cats (Salty & Meesa). Feel free to contact us if you are interested in buying sheep or want to arrange a visit. We have lambs on the farm usually from March-June.
