The Humane Society of the BVI was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Jonelle. Jonelle was a huge animal lover and her wishes were that in lieu of flowers at her Celebration of Life, donations were preferred to the animal shelter in honor of her memory. We just wanted to say a big thank you to all our volunteers both near and far, we simply could not do this without you. Animal welfare can be extremely difficult and we all have to give something of ourselves which can be tough. 😻 Meet Floki! 😻

This handsome little male tabby kitten started life as a feral, but oh, how he’s blossomed! Floki has shed his shy beginnings and is now a bundle of pure joy and personality. His playful antics are endlessly entertaining (prepare for lots of laughs!), and he’s a champion snuggler who purrs like an engine whenever he’s cuddled.

Floki adores people of all ages and gets along famously with other cats, making him the perfect addition to any family. Whether it’s playtime, cuddle time, or just hanging out, Floki will shower you with unconditional love and companionship every single day.

A huge thank you to everybody that took time out of their family day this morning and headed to the shelter to make sure all our furball got walks. There was extra time out of the kennels because we had so many volunteers, extra treats, extra cuddles. SHORT TERM FOSTER NEEDED
Hi my name is Rosemarie, I am too (rounded) :) to fit in a cabin bag in the hope of a new start. I was due to fly cargo last week to an amazing foster placement but unfortunately due to a change of policy on admission time of a rabies vaccine into the US my doggie passport was declined. On a plus the foster program have said they will take me once I qualify :) I am looking to go into foster until that time, should be no more than a month. I am great with other dogs, walk well on a leash and I am also super cute. If you can help me please reach out to Shelter Manager, Vijay on 540 2299. Thanks, love and licks Rosemarie xx

UPDATE ON KHOY ♥️♥️
After more than three years in the shelter Khoy is finally in foster with one of our volunteers 🙏 and has now completed his heartworm treatment. He will stay in Foster until his new family come and pick him up at the end of January 🤗 he will then fly back to the States 🐾 Every dog in our care touches our hearts, but for this little guy it’s just something a little extra special 🥰 His time has finally come, and we could not be happier. Thank you to everyone that has made this possible 🙏♥️🐾 We love you Khoy.

ADOPTED
We received the most amazing news that Phoenix who flew stateside has been adopted. Thank you to Caribbean Canine Connection for placing him and PAW BVI for arranging the es**rt. Phoenix is one lucky pup but sadly we have over 50 adult dogs in the shelter in need of a home. Please remember always ADOPT DON'T SHOP when there are so many in need.

FOSTER NEEDED 🙏
Hi everyone meet Bitsy ♥️🐾 She is an adult dog and can fit in a cabin bag and was due to fly. Unfortunately pre test on arrival to the shelter showed her to be HW positive so would not be accepted by the foster programs in the US. We are going to fully treat her for HW so she is a lucky pup, then she can fly but we cannot do the HW treatment in the shelter. We are therefore looking for a foster for a few months.
