Update Typhoon

We have a roof !!
Sorry about the lack of update, but it has been complicated those last weeks to be able to build the roof. But we have it now 🥳
We still don’t have electricity yet in the lounge and the arena, but it should be done very soon. We will be able to be back to 100% normal schedule soon 🤞🏻
Once more, thank you for your amazing support, we were able to do it only thanks to YOU !

Dear friends,
The water has stopped rising and we feel so lucky that the d**e has protected our club. So many people in Hanoi and around the pony club were not so lucky, and have lost everything, our thoughts are with them.
Not too much rain today, and even finally a bit of blue sky, so good to see after such difficult times.
Our lounge’s roof is gone, so we hope that it will not rain too much in the next few days.
Still a few adjustments are left to do in the arena before we can safely resume lessons, hopefully this weekend.

We are so very grateful to keep receiving your generous donations. We are on the right path to be able to keep the pony club open despite all the challenges.

We will keep doing everything we can to save this place, thanks to your generosity which proves us once again that Hanoi Pony Club is as important to you as it is to us and our dear ponies, thank you.

Hanoi is currently at high risk of flooding, as the Red River water level is rising rapidly.

We hope that our pony club will not be flooded, as it would be a disaster after the typhoon. We are currently still protected by the d**e, but it is still raining, the water level keeps raising and the situation is alarming.

Our thoughts are with all those who are affected by floods and landslides in Northern Vietnam and Hanoi.
This is a stressful time for us and everybody in Vietnam, we will do our maximum to protect our beloved ponies.

URGENT HELP NEEDED - Typhoon Yagi

Dear riders, dear parents, dear friends,

We hope that you, your families and your homes have not been too badly affected by the terrible typhoon Yagi.
Unfortunately, it hit us very hard yesterday, as you can see on the pictures.

Luckily all our beloved ponies and our staff are okay and safe, which is the most important, but our infrastructure has been badly damaged.

Our reception area/lounge is totally destroyed, including all the electrical system, one fridge has been damaged, and some roofs have missing parts.
The stables are still up but also need repair because of a fallen tree.
It seems that the reception furniture is mostly okay, but we haven’t yet been able to safely assess everything as it is under the fallen roof and we may have lost some items or equipment.

We are waiting to know how much the repairs will cost, but it is certain to be more than what we can currently afford.

We are calling out for your generosity to help us face this unexpected expense.

Friday. Sept 6, 1049 AM.

Supertyphoon Yagi storm centre is nearing the Hainan gap. This massive cyclone has changed course a little more westward. Currently 200- 240 km/hour winds but will weaken to 70-100 upon hitting mainland and then Hanoi on Saturday morning / afternoon. Moving slowly NW at 15 km/hour.

Current projection shows it making landfall near Halong/Haiphong on Saturday morning as a Cat 1 or 2. However, outer bands will be upon us very soon, tonight.

VN government is mobilising disaster response units.

Get ready to hunker down, folks.
