Curro and Woolie are a bit lighter today after their visit to the Spa. For both horses it was their first time being clipped but they were complete stars, Woolie fell asleep and Curro held his breath. Thanks Wendy for feeding carrots and getting covered in hair.

We had a great day at Asco races. Donkey races and then the horses races, really worth going it was great fun.

Horse and Donkey racing at Ascot without the T! In the local village of Asco they do this every year and on the sunday race through the streets..a great spectacle

Today was a fiesta of San Antonio where we parade the animals and they are blessed by the local priest. Beau wasn't having anything to do with the man in the white dress so she hid behind Bodie. Thank you to Wendy Mayne for riding Beau so well.

Yesterday, Beau and I attended the Tres Tombs in Miravet. A real Spanish tradition, with the locals feeding sugar to the horses as we went round. Beau felt the sugar wasn't enough of a bribe to go near a stranger so we stayed well clear!!

Sunday is the Tres Tombs where people parade the town on their horses and they are blessed by the towns priest. Beau is looking ready now to just keep her clean, it should be a lovely warm day of around 25-27 on the day so possibly may not wear my tweed jacket.

Great morning riding Beau around the Spanish countryside. Our beautiful cottage is being renovated at the moment but will be avaiable to rent from Feb 2018. Check out Catalan adventure for the great range of outdoor activities as well as riding our beautiful horses too.

Beau was determined to help Nick with the fencing and The joys of having a grey that likes laying down. I think Bodie needs a bath again! Lovely warm day here in Spain but a bit cooler than last week it's was about 27 yesterday.

It was interesting last week, Bodie decided to take Beau on a sightseeing tour around the local farms. It had a bit of the Benny Hill feel about it, as myself in the Disco, Nick on his motorbike, two friends in their cars and two local Policemen chase around the countryside my two horses. In the end they both walked, casually up the drive and put themselves back in their stables. Try and explain that to a Policeman that does not understand English and you don't speak Spanish it made an interesting conversation, I think!

Heavy rain yesterday flooded our temporary stables so new bedding down as soon as I can get some shavings.

BIG, BIG news, we managed to go out for a lovely hack around the farms Friday evening and Nick rode in complete control without a lead. Well done Nick and well done Beau

The first day of my Equestrian centre. This is what roughing it looks like in Spain. We are calling it Desert storm stables due to the tank netting we acquired from Army surplus store in Cornwall. Myself, Bodie and Beau went out for an early morning ride in the mountains photos to follow.
