Darius - Second place finish for Sean Jobin and Darius at Tryon CSI 3* Grand Prix.

This was an extra special result for the whole team because almost a year ago to the day, Darius and Sean finished second in this exact 3* Grand Prix at Tryon with very similar circumstances. A lot has happened to our little mountain pony in that time and we honestly were not sure if he would ever jump again, nevermind compete and be successful at this level again. Very grateful to have such a special animal in the barn 💕

🚨 Delayed update from GLEF 🚨

The whole Foxridge show team had a great 2 weeks at ! Sean Jobin and the grand prix horses had some great rounds, taking home some good ribbons against very stiff competition, including a 6th in the FEI Speed with Darius.

We scored a few champions ribbons as well... Emily Bobo and Hashtag in the 3'3 Jr Hunters and Emily Rickert and Storyteller in the Adult Amateurs 🥇

Maggie Jacobs and Cassinir won the Dover and the Maclay medals!

Reserve Champion twice in a row for Keirah Kennedy and Farnley Isadorable in the Short Stirrup Hunters and Equitation 😍

Sarah Nichols and Domingo Z put in some solid rounds in the Adult Jumpers, finishing both weeks strong with great ribbons in the Classic!

The Novelist made his second hunter appearance with Emily Rickert and took home top ribbons in the Baby Greens.

Lastly, our Low Child Hunters had a great weekend out of a large group of competitors. Ella and Happy Hour placed 3rd and 8th. Ciara and Over the Moon finished 7th in the Classic. And Claire and It's Roxette topped off the weekend with a great placings and 5th in the Classic.

Foxridge Farms South is looking to hire an experienced show groom to our Ocala, FL team!
New team members will be working with International Grand Prix horses, top amateur hunters and young prospects.
Daily tasks include:
*Mucking
*Grooming
*Bathing
*Tacking
*Lunging
*Show Care
*Wrapping
*Feeding
The position earns a base of $500 per week. Work week is five days, Wednesday through Sunday. Tips will be paid out on show weeks.
Must have a valid drivers license, housing can be arranged for throughout the winter circuit at HITS.

Foxridge Farms is in search of a full time groom to start immediately until mid November. Possibility to continue after November for the right candidate. Duties include barn chores, tacking up horses, travelling for shows, etc. Prefer someone with previous groom experience. Some riding opportunities available for the approved person. FRANCE BANS TRIMMING OF WHISKERS

Last week the French Equestrian Federation joined their Swiss and German counterparts in banning the trimming of horse whiskers on welfare grounds. Any horse who has had their whiskers removed will be disqualified from competition. Well done France!

The horse has whiskers – or 'vibrissae' – to help him navigate his world. They are super-sensitive, multi-functional sensory organs with densely packed nerves at their root that send sensory messages to the horse’s brain.

These whiskers are so sensitive to vibration and changes in air current they can instantly inform the horse about his environment – for example helping him avoid injury by detecting nearby objects, differentiating between different textures, judging wind direction and identifying food. The horse has a blind spot beneath his muzzle and so his whiskers are a vital aid to his vision.

From the horse’s point of view, removing these whiskers reduces his spatial awareness and leaves him partially handicapped. We in the UK are very backward in many aspects of horse welfare and it’s time for us to catch up, we should have made this ruling long ago...

We had an amazing first 2 weeks at the World Equestrian Center Fall Series! Our grand prix horses were fantastic with Sean Jobin; Darius put in some super double clear rounds, Numero Uno 7 finished 8th in the Futures Prix, and Banco Du Moulin made his big class debuts in the Welcome Stake and finished 3rd with a double clear in the Futures prix! The hunters cleaned up as well, Sean rode Storyteller to a 4th place finish in the National Hunter Derby. Zaffire and Emily Rickert were Champion week one and finished 2nd and 3rd in their WIHS Hunter Classics. Happy Hour and Emily had some very nice trips in the equitation with a 2nd and 5th, and had top score in the Ariat Medal. And lastly, our new addition to the foxridge family, Cusiena Q, took home Reserve Champion twice with Sean and with Emily! Congratulations everyone, we are thrilled with all of our horses progress and can't wait to return for the final 2 weeks!

- Zaffire: 16.1, 7yo German WB mare. Auto lead, currently showing in the 3ft Adult Amateurs and has been very successful, has shown in the 3'3 and dabbled in the 3'5. Mid five figures.

Numero Uno 7: 17.2, 10yo Holsteiner gelding. Gentle giant, has shown up to the 1.45's with a pro, but is happiest packing junior/amateurs up to 1.30's. Will take a serious joke and always gets you to the other side. Mid-upper five figure.

- Happy Hour: 16.3, 11yo Belgian WB mare. 3ft hunter equitation packer, has a nice lead change, little bit more forward ride but very safe. Mid five figures.

- Storyteller: 16.2, 8yo German WB mare. 3'3 performance winner, hack winner, auto change, very fancy. Has also had top results at 3'5/3'6. Low six figures.

- Zindiloma: 16.3, 14yo Dutch WB gelding. Was a successful grand prix horse, is now stepping down to 1.30ish. Great teacher for a junior/amateur looking to move up the jumper ranks on a quality horse. Mid-upper five figures.

- Pony Soprano: 14.1, 12yo Welsh/Quarter Horse gelding. Good show record in Canada, has a lead change, great jump. Only available for inexpensive lease to the right situation.

We are all so thrilled with Happy Hour these past 2 weeks at The Kentucky Horse Park. She went clear in all of her 1.15 jumper rounds, and then performs amazing in the National Derby on the very last day (when she hasn't jumped around a hunter course in months!) So lucky to have such a talented and versatile horse like her :)
