30.10.23 - URGENT UPDATE!
ITS A PLEA FROM OUR HEARTS!
A cancer patient doing chemotherapy should not do dirty job. A small scratch that Robert got on Friday resulted in a huge problem by Sunday. He had to go to the hospital on Sunday, on Monday he still has fever!!!! and his hand is swollen. And its not the end of the story. Chemotherapy affects and destroys immune system.
We are trying to collect 3,000 a month to get paid help at the shelter and we have not even get a half! Please, please pay attention at the fundraising link below. It is the matter of survival at this point.
And I am sorry to say this, please stop bringing dogs. He cannot say "no" and people are taking advantage of this. The owner has cancer stage IV. Its not a good time to do it. Have merci!
Dear Animal Lovers,
We are raising funds to compensate manual workers at Williams Dog Shelter, Pareklissia Village, Cyprus during the owner’s illness.
Robert Majer, the owner of Williams Dog Shelter was diagnosed with lung cancer stage IV in April, 2023. He is now undergoing chemotherapy and just has had his 4th session done. He is still working himself.
This dog shelter is not just a place; it's Robert's passion, his life, and the reason he fights each day. Despite battling cancer, Robert refuses to abandon his post. After each chemotherapy session, he returns to the shelter, and stays surrounded by the love and support of his beloved dogs.
However, as much as we admire Robert's strength, we recognize the need for practical support. Physical labor is taking a toll on him, it is not good for a person with his medical condition at all.
We are reaching out to raise funds to compensate the manual workers and helpers at the shelter. The funds will enable us to continue hiring 2-3 dedicated individuals who will ensure the shelter is kept clean and well-maintained, with the dogs fed on time and their living spaces pristine.
We need approximately 3,000 euros per month to make this possible, and every contribut
🐾Help Little Jules Play and Run Again! 🐾
Jules, a 3 y.o. female, urgently needs hip surgery. Her surgery can be done next week (August 1st-4th) subject to funds availability. The estimated cost of the surgery is 600 euros.
Jules is currently experiencing intense pain and difficulty moving due to a hip problem. It breaks our hearts to see her limping and struggling to rise from a resting position. With your support, we can provide her with the life-changing hip surgery she so desperately needs. Julie has also been diagnosed with leishmania, she lost weight, started having skin problems and her milteforan treatment will cost another 200 euros.
Jules was found as a stray on the beach, and since then, she has captured the hearts of everyone who has met her. She was once a happy, playful, and affectionate puppy, but sadly, her health has taken a turn for the worse.
Your generous donation can provide Jules with the medical care and treatment she urgently needs. By contributing, you'll help alleviate her pain and give her a chance to lead a healthy and active life, just like any other playful pup her age.
Your kindness and compassion can bring back the wag to her tail and the sparkle to her eyes. Thank you for supporting Jules on her road to recovery.

Dogs get cold too
https://gogetfunding.com/new-year-doggies-charity/
Dogs get cold too, despite any fur they may have.
As Cyprus continues dealing with heavy rain and low temperatures, there is lots of extra work around the shelter.
The bedding needs to be checked and replaced frequently to make sure it is dry, so extras are required. Many dogs need clothes, as their fur is not enough to keep them warm.
As winter goes on, the temperatures have been falling below zero during the night. This can cause water to freeze in the dogs metal bowls and can be a potential hazard, as their tongues may stick to the metal. All of the dogs need more calories from food to keep them warm. Senior dogs and puppies have the hardest time dealing with the cold, so they would better stay inside.
We continue our fundraising campaign to pay the outstanding construction bills that the owner of Williams Shelter has been left with after preparing his shelter for the upcoming winter. He is busy full time taking care of 130 dogs and even more busy now due to cold and rains.
We are only 17% funded as of today, January 22, 2022, we still need to collect 7,512€ to pay the bills and there are only 9 days left until the end of the campaign. By making your donation you are helping the stray animals to survive this cold and rainy winter. Please help us today to reach our goal so that we can continue saving stray and abandoned animals in need.

Another rainy day at Williams Dog Shelter
Another very rainy day in Cyprus. Water reservoirs in Cyprus are just 62.7% full but if you were here at the shelter today you would think that they were likely to overflow. The good thing is that now all the dogs have a safe place to stay waiting till the rain is over.
After the rain comes... the mealtime!
After the rain comes..
not the sunshine yet, but a nice and quiet weather. Right time to get a meal outside before it starts raining again. We just hope that one day each of them will get a nice meal in his/her very own backyard and then jump back on a very cozy sofa when it starts raining again.
Humans are working hard to make this dream come true.
Williams Shelter is Getting Ready for the Rainy Winter
Back in the beginning of November 2021. The doggies knew nothing about the heavy rain forecasts for the upcoming winter. This was something the humans needed to take care of.
