In the 1970s, Bill, his brother Michael, and Dr. Leo had a visionary idea: to launch an organization dedicated to proving through research what they already knew in their hearts 👇

Last week, as Fin and his handler were leaving the hospital, a man with tears in his eyes approached them.

He asked if Fin could visit his wife, who was in severe pain and heartbroken over the recent loss of their beloved brown miniature poodle, who had eyes just like Fin's. 🥺

When they walked into her hospital room, the woman gasped and started crying at the sight of Fin.

For 20 precious minutes, Fin sat by her side, offering her love and his comforting presence during an incredibly difficult time. 🐕💕

Tiana and her handler, Deb, recently visited a senior facility where one resident who rarely spoke said, "It's a cat. It's cute. OK bye."

The staff was ✨ THRILLED✨

Moments like these show the incredible impact therapy animals have on people's lives. 🥰

A few years ago, Apollo and his handler hit the pavement in Brooklyn, New York, for the World's Largest Pet Walk. 🐾

They embraced the great weather, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and even made some friends 🐶 along the way.

The day couldn't have been more perfect. 🥰

✨ The legend has retired ✨

Since 2017, Sam has been a beloved therapy dog at St. Francis. His comforting presence, especially during the pandemic, was a beacon of hope for patients and staff.

Over the years, Sam’s gentle nature left an unforgettable mark, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories.

At the end of February, the staff at St. Francis hosted a retirement party for Sam, which served as a reminder that sometimes, a four-legged friend can touch lives in ways that words alone cannot convey. 🐶❤️

A few weeks ago, this adorable boy made his debut at Southington Public Library. Jarvis LOVES working with children, so he's a natural fit for our Read With Me initiative.

You can catch Jarvis and his handler, Valerie, at the library each week for story time. Or you might spot them at Dunkin' afterward, where Jarvis enjoys his favorite therapy dog treat: an old-fashioned donut. 😋

At three months old, Johnny was surrendered to a shelter when his previous owner woke up to find Johnny's back legs weren't working. Johnny was paralyzed and at risk of being euthanized. ✨ Then he met Justin ✨

Justin adopted the precious paralyzed kitten and started taking him everywhere. They'd go camping, hiking and even river tubing. Johnny loved it all, and he loved everyone he met.

This got Justin thinking about therapy animal volunteer opportunities. He found us and our community partner, SOUL Harbour Ranch Animal Therapy Program, and Justin and Johnny's volunteer journey began.

Johnny and Justin just celebrated one year as a therapy animal volunteer team. Justin loves seeing everyone's reaction when they see a cat instead of a dog. Their most memorable visit so far was to a hospice care facility where one resident said that they fulfilled her dying wish.

Though it's only been a year, Johnny's impact on the people he's met is immeasurable. He's a testament to the power of therapy animals and the difference they can make in people's lives. ❤️

"On May 2, 2024 Hugo crossed over the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly.

He left the world a better place than when he arrived. We know he was a wonderful therapy dog. We had the pleasure of being his handlers. But we had no idea the impact he had on others and the people whose lives were changed by meeting Hugo. We have received hundreds of comments, cards, tributes, and stories letting us know how he changed people’s lives.

During a visit the exposure to people is limited to the time spent with them. To hear them come back and tell us the kind of impact he made has been overwhelming. He left us as an exemplary representation of unconditional love.
