Minnie Mae was adopted!

1/18/25

A few years ago I was working on a feral cat colony behind a business. Minnie Mae was humanely trapped near a dumpster at 6-8 months old. She was feral, underweight & scared. However, she had a gentle demeanor. I decided to see if she could be socialized. She turned out to be a sweetheart.

My dear friend- the late Kelly Lawson, reached out to me and was looking for a cat for her Mom. I matched her with Minnie Mae. It was a great fit. She brought company, laughter & entertainment to her new person Vickie Jones. Sadly, a couple of yrs later, Vickie ended up in the hospital and passed away.

Once again sweet Minnie Mae was without a home. I went and picked her up in Salt Lake. It was a sad day. Minnie was scared & confused. She had seen Vickie get hurt. She had also been living over a month alone in an apartment. (People would stop in and feed her)

In her new foster home she was shut down. She didn’t have much of an appetite, regardless of all the different foods tried. Gradually she accepted her new situation- but never fully embraced it. She didn’t show her silly playful side & didn’t care for living with other cats.

It took a year for the right person to come along. Melody was grieving the loss of her German Shepard dog. She was looking for another ESA animal, this time a cat she could give a forever home to. After talking with her and looking over the application, I knew she and Minnie needed each other.

I noticed Melody’s gentleness and responsible nature. She prepared for & wanted to do everything right for her new companion.

Currently Minnie is sleeping on her bed & learning to trust & love her new person. Melody says she pounces on her feet when she wants to play & gets the zoomies. “She lets me kiss her head & pet her a lot. She really purrs up a storm whenever I pet her, or when she wants to play. She’s been a big comfort to me. It’s so nice to have her presence here. She’s just plain wonderful.”

Her name is now Faith.

She went with her cat tower, fav treats & toys. This home was worth the wait. She will be loved and give love the rest of her days; & I am happy.

Congratulations! 🧡🧡

Jeffrey was adopted!

I’m SO excited for Jeffrey and his new family JD & Audrey!

This family knows all about loving and giving cats a wonderful life. They previously had two cats. When the last one died at age 17, they were heartbroken. They felt that they couldn’t go through that kind of pain again.

Although they didn’t plan on having anymore cats, fate had other plans. When JD was driving home from work in the pouring rain, he spotted two little eyes on a busy highway. They belonged to a 6 week old tortoise shell kitten who was drenched from the rain. He immediately turned his car around and picked her up.

Once old enough, they had her spayed and vaccinated. They wanted to take care of her properly before finding her a home. (I mean… how many people do you know that would do that)? This family is exceptional!

Soon after surgery, Pip the kitten became extremely ill. She was diagnosed with FIP. (A fatal disease that had no cure up until recently). They went through a costly three month regimen of injections and medication. The drug at the time was only avail on the black market. It saved her life.

Now Pip is 9 months old and healthy. They thought Pip might like another feline companion. They also wanted a sweet lovey kitten.

Their search lead our paths to cross. After hearing what they were looking for, I knew Jeffrey would be the perfect fit. He too was rescued off the road, (a freeway on-ramp at six weeks old).

The past couple of days, I have received regular updates. He is fitting in well. Audrey says: “We are so thrilled to have Jeffrey as part of our family.”

Well… I’m thrilled too! This is why I do what I do.

Congrats!

❤️‍🩹 Funding needed!

Jeffrey was found on a freeway on-ramp in Brigham City. He has come a long way. He has already been neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. I recently found he has inflamed painful gums. He was seen by the vet to get this resolved before he can be adopted.

Donations are greatly needed! No amount is too small. I do this out of my own pocket and with the help of donors. The vet bills, food, litter, etc are tremendous.

Thank you!

Update 2: We did it! 39 kind individuals GAVE. Gaaah, thank you! 🥹🧡🧡

Whether you donated $1 or $200 it made a mathematical difference. You helped a needy innocent animal that didn’t ask to be put in this situation. You supported me and my efforts to help cats that were failed by someone else. Hamilton will have a chance for the life he deserves.

❤️‍🩹 Update: Funds still needed for Hamilton!

While Hamilton is recovering great, my bank account isn’t. But we’re getting so close!

$1,095.53 was needed to cover his last medical bill.

26 fantastic people donated a total of $756!

Thank you!

The only way I can help these cats is through your support. It’s important to me, that every cat I rescue receives proper medical care before adoption. Hamilton is a special case and has been through a lot. He will be avail for adoption once he is healthy.

Remaining balance: $339.53

Please help! $1,095.53 needed.

Hamilton continues to be an ongoing special case. A few months ago he had several teeth removed due to stomatitis. Things were looking good, until the stomatitis came back in full force. 🙀

A week ago he went in for an entire teeth extraction. Poor Hammy is once again on the mend. The vet and I are hoping this completely resolves his painful issue.

This is a big expense and I really need help covering his medical bills. I make sure every cat I rescue receives proper medical treatment and care before adoption.

I’m doing everything I can to alleviate the suffering of street cats in a city that sadly does nothing for them.

If you believe in the work I do, and believe in Hamilton, let’s do this!

🤎 Funds needed!

My name is Krissy. I was found as a stray with my two kittens (they were stuck down in a window well and rescued too)

I’ve been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested neg for FIV and FeLV. I had a small degenerative eye that needed to be removed. It could have been caused from an old injury, but the vet thinks it’s likely I was born that way. It will no longer be infected or cause discomfort.

I am healing and doing great! Although, there is a medical bill that has to be paid. $354.97 is needed to cover costs. Would you be willing to donate a few dollars? I would appreciate it so much.

I am also taking applications to find my forever home. If interested just ask!

Samantha & Callie were adopted! 🩷🩷

Ken and RaNae not only adopted one, but two kitties! When Amber a former adopter found out her parents were looking to adopt a kitty, she referred them to The Cat Project. I’m so thrilled she did!

Samantha, who they call Sammy, was found in the mall parking lot while I was working on a tnr project. She was pregnant and living in the bushes. No owners were found and it’s likely she was abandoned.

Callie was trapped in my own backyard as a frightened feral kitten. After some socialization she was soon ready for her forever home. They were both spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested negative for FIV/ FeLV.

These two kitties landed in a wonderful home. This family is taking all the right steps and eager to give quality care to their new family members. RaNae is mildly allergic to cats, but is successfully figuring out how to combat her allergy. She feeds a special premium cat food that helps. (Did you know there is a scientifically proven cat food that significantly reduces the main FEL D 1 allergen in cats? Check out Purina Pro Plan, Live Clear)

With a little time and patience, the kitties have adjusted well. Even though they didn’t know each other before, they’ve become fast friends. They love to chase each other up and down the stairs and lounge in their new cat tree. They bring a lot of happiness to their new family and that makes me happy too!

Ruby was adopted! 🖤

Ruby was adopted by a fantastic human. The kind of human that would go to the Humane Society and read books to the cats. Joe was looking for an adult cat and interested in adopting a black cat.
Through searching online he came across my foster Ruby. It was a perfect match. He named her Roxy.

He has gone above and beyond making sure she has adjusted and been comfortable every step of the way. Joe has turned his tv room into a cat room. She loves to sit in Joe’s lap while they watch television. Roxy has custom steps and shelves to climb, a window perch, a cat running wheel, toys, a fancy collar, high quality food and treats, (often given on a lickable cat mat for enrichment). Joe even put a nightlight by her litter box (b/c he figured she would like that in the night). He said, well wouldn’t you?! Joe has thought of everything- including adding Roxy in his will. He has arranged for his granddaughter to take over her care if something were to happen to him.

She was adopted 12/14/23, but the update yesterday was this: “Roxy and I have become very good friends. I can just feel that she loves me and I love her so much. I just love my time with her. I am retired so we spend a lot of time together. I love Roxy and I’m so grateful I found that kitty rescue, and for Adrian. It’s been wonderful. Thanks again.”

She’s come a long way since I saw her in a mall parking lot. She was playing with a piece of litter that was blowing in the wind. I pulled over and was surprised that she was so friendly. She was hungry and eagerly ate a can of wet food. I took her home, but never found any owners.

She was spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. She was put up for adoption. Much thanks for collaborating with me and helping me find Ruby, aka Roxy such a fantastic home!

*Update: owner found!

Do you know me? This friendly guy lost his family, but found my feral cat colony. He was cold, hungry and crying for help.
Found 11/24/24. Unfortunately, there is no municipal animal shelter here. Hopefully his family is looking for him. I will do my best to find them.

Young unaltered male. No microchip.

🧡Jeffrey Darwin was rescued from a freeway on-ramp in Brigham City, Utah. (8/10/24) A kind highschooler spotted him and reached out for help. He was approx 6-7 weeks old. (No other kittens or mama was found).

Jeffrey is a playful, gentle and sweet kitten. Approx 5 months old. He doesn’t have any trouble introducing himself to other cats and kittens. He does well with them. He has a great disposition, is devastatingly handsome, and has perfect potty manners.

He would do best with a person who spends time at home and wants a companion. He’d love to be adopted with one of his play buddies. He could also be a great addition to your family as another cat. It is unknown if he would do well with dogs or small children. However, if introduced properly and if they are tame, it shouldn’t be a problem.

He feels canned food is a seriously important part of his diet. He requests the tradition be carried on. He would also like to sleep on your bed, and have lots of toys.

Having had enough of the big, bad outdoors, he is strictly and contentedly an indoor cat. He has had an exceptionally rough start in life and is looking for only blue skies ahead. Forever.

🔸Vaccinated
🔸microchipped
🔸dewormed

🖤 Cricket

Even though Cricket was wondering what the plan was at the vet this morning, she took it all in stride and did great today.

Her surgery went well. It turns out she is not pregnant. I’m so glad! (She had started to come in heat and was wormy). She is negative for FIV/FeLV.

Welcome to the good life Cricket. I promise to find you a home as totally awesome as you are.

Funds secured. Thank you all!

Just look at him! 🥹

Hamilton’s surgery went well today. The vet decided the best course of action was to pull 11 of his teeth instead of a full mouth extraction. Recheck is in a month.

The total today was $1,024.82
8 awesome individuals donated $297.50 Amount left to fundraise is $727.32 No donation is too small. Your support is needed and appreciated.

Hamilton was an abandoned tom cat from the streets of Logan and he needs help from our animal loving community.

He is currently home. Has eaten soft food, pottied, and is resting well on antibiotics and excellent drugs to control pain.

🧡 Fundraiser

Do you remember me?

Weighing in at 18 pounds, Hamilton is a big lovable guy that has been an ongoing special case.

He has been through a lot while in my foster care. He received the basics- neuter, vaccines and dewormer. He also had blood work and is unfortunately positive for FIV (but that doesn’t slow him down). He needed and successfully went through entropion eyelid surgery and a dental.

A year and a half later he has developed painful stomatitis. He has recently been to the vet for an exam and was prescribed antibiotics to prepare for the dental surgery. All of his teeth will need to be extracted.

The surgery is Tues Oct 15th. I need to raise $1000+ to cover the cost. I’m one person doing this alone and would appreciate any support.

Please help me set Hamilton up for success. I am looking forward to finding him his new adoptive family once he’s feeling better!

*Update: Kitten was transferred to rescue and getting is getting medical care. Thank you Zoo! 💗

Looking for a rescue to transfer this baby kid.

This kitten was recently trapped at a feral cat colony. She is EXTREMELY sweet- so she will not be going back.

However, I suspect she has FIP. She has a huge belly and her body condition is poor. Her bones are prominent in her spine, hips and ribs. I’ve only had her a day. She’s been de-wormed.

I have other kittens I recently took in from a colony I’m working on. I am not able, or equipped to give her the care she needs.

Sending smoke signals from Cache County. Is there anyone able to help?!

A short story and fundraiser about a cat named Georgie.

Several years ago I was doing TNR at an apartment complex. I came across Georgie. He had a severe tail injury. He had to have most of it amputated. He was also neutered and vaccinated. Georgie stayed with me while recovering. Once his tail healed, I didn’t have the heart to take him back to his colony.

I learned he was semi-tame. He had a docile spirit. He kept to himself and often ran out of sight. But he made other kitty friends and was comfortable here.

Over the past month he’d been losing weight. He stopped running away form me and tolerated being picked up. It’s then I could feel his protruding bones and poor body condition hiding underneath his coat. He had also become congested. He was working harder to breathe and was unwell. The veterinarian noticed his gums had a blue hue and suspected heart problems… possible kidney too. Georgie was a senior cat and had deteriorated.

The veterinarian and I both felt the best course was to let Georgie go. We opted not to do costly workups of x-rays and bloodwork with his already poor outlook.

These decisions are difficult. There are SO many cats needing help and little to no resources in my area. Please consider donating to help cover his bill. I can only do this work with support. If 10 people donated $17 this bill would be resolved.

Rest in peace Georgie (you and those fabulous whiskers of yours). Know that I tried my best. I’m sorry for all you’ve been through. Know that you were loved.

I didn’t know when I told Poseidon “that everything’s going to be ok”-would mean a release from his earthly misery.

Poseidon had serious complications from FIV. He was sickly, wasting away and in terrible condition.

The kindest thing offered to him was peace. He purred even when sedated until he was asleep. He was humanely euthanized yesterday.

I cried. I am sad. I am angry.

I feel exasperated by people. This shouldn’t have happened, yet it is common place. It’s incredibly painful to witness over and over again.

The only veterinary care Poseidon received was when I had him neutered, dewormed & vaccinated a couple of years ago. He lived much of the time outside fighting and mating with other unfixed cats, this is how he contracted FIV. He was left behind when his family moved.

His last few days were spent with me. He loved the soft blankets on the bed and was such a snuggler. He purred the moment he was touched. Poseidon did not seem to worry about where he was, or show nervousness once I got him home. He showed relief. He knew I was helping him. I know he felt safe.

I feel such love for every cat I come across. I miss him. I wish he was one that could have gone on to a new life with a new family… but not all endings are good.

I’m so sorry Poseidon. Rest easy. Know that in the end you were seen, and most definitely loved. 💙

(The last pic is when I first met him Aug 2021. He didn’t have the best life, but was a much healthier cat back then)

Thank you to the few who donated. Because if you, Poseidon received veterinary care.

Rest easy sweet Walker. You were so loved.💙🌈😢
