I've always loved all kinds of "critters" as far back as my memory goes! Ever since I was a toddler, I've cared for all kinds of pets including fish, turtles, cats, dogs, birds, and rabbits--with as many as 11 critters at a time. I volunteered for several years at a Wildlife Rehabilitation center in Illinois, where I fed and handled everything from chimney swifts and squirrels to fawns, raccoons,
and foxes. After years in the travel industry, I started Pawprints of Richmond, a small boutique health store in Ilinois, that offered "Holistic Solutions for Pets & People." My 11 pets were my "highly-paid panel of testers" for homemade and premium pet foods, treats, toys, supplements, and flower essences. During my 20+ years of operating Pawprints, I earned my Certificate in Holistic Pet Nutrition, Certificate of Nutritional Counseling, and Certificate of Naturopathic Studies, and I attended many seminars presented by veterinarians like Dr. Karen Becker, DVM, and many other specialists. I simultaneously shared this knowledge with clients to help address health and behavioral issues in their pets, and I had a loyal following. I also studied, recommended, and wrote my dissertation on Flower Essence Therapy after witnessing its considerable benefits personally, and with clients and their pets. Before moving to Western North Carolina, I worked for a superfood company for which I attended many AHVMA and other holistic health-related conferences and lectures. I also began pet-sitting for local clients. Still traveling for work after moving to Lake Toxaway in 2018, I saw the need for reliable and experienced pet-sitting and related services so I established "Toxaway Holistic Pet Care & more" in late 2022. I truly enjoy working with people and putting their minds at ease when they leave their pets in my care! My three wonderful kitties--P-Nut, Jazz, and Hobo--are spoiled rotten and yet "allow" me the flexibility to help local clients with their pets' needs.
*Other, non-pet-related, services include home visits when you're away, taking in mail/packages, and some local errands . . . just ask and I'll let you know if I can help you out!
