We now have 3 different small mobs coming onto the property, usually it's a female with her last two joeys and one in the pouch, the mum likes to chat through the fence with ours, the other morning John found a mob of 7 in the front paddock, it was alpha male , 2 other males, a female and 3 more that he couldn't see well and the 3rd lot were up the drive with a female being chased by 3 large males, John worried about her so pulled the car up and watched as two males left but the biggest alpha chased the female, hope she was ok as he was huge compared to her. Breeding season, not all the males are gentle.

MAISIE.....This beautiful precious little pinkie came to us at just 435g , she was part of our Alexandrina Wildlife group, unfortunately a farmer had shot and killed her mother but the farmers wife rescued the joey ( makes absolutely no sense to me, to kill one then save one, farmers logic ???? ) but she was kept nice and warm and got to us quickly, she sure had the will to live, took to the bottle almost straight away and settled quickly, an absolute delight from day 1

For a couple of years we were members and worked together with our local Alexandrina ( AWSG ) wildlife group. They have a large number of long term rescues and also have a charity barn open two days a week so are usually busy. They also work in with a Uni program saving turtles. We have the time and experience so offered to help them raise their PINKIE ( no fur ) and VELVET ( Fur just coming through and skin showing color ). These babies are a FULLTIME commitment as they go from 2 to 3 to 4 hourly feeds, they must be kept warm, moisturised as their mums would do, special formula's made and help toileting after each feed. Medical issues to be attended etc. You become very sleep deprived and they become your priority until settled and growing comfortably. Dedication is a MUST as they are very fragile at that stage and not all can be saved. The next few photo's will show some of these babies

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday in the roo yard, getting cuddles, checking them all over and giving them treats, took some photo's etc. Seeing them happy and relaxed is so relaxing.

Lots more to come but I'm learning how to do this so please be patient as I much prefer to be out with the animals than doing technical things

Again THANKYOU to ARC for the wonderful packages of pouches, hanging bags and medical supplies.
