Star with her AKC Golden Retriever puppies two weeks old. This was right after she came in from outside and laid down. They quickly swarmed her as their eyes are open. I weighed a few, most weigh over three pounds, the largest was 3 1/2 pounds. The boy runt was about half that although he seems to be doing well. The puppies range from cream colored like their father Duke to Star's beige color, or perhaps darker for the smallest boy.
We will start having families out in about two weeks to meet the puppies and choose the one they want to take home a few weeks later. We are in California contact Steve for more info at AKC to schedule an appointment or for more information. Both parents are on-site as are Star's parents.
We only breed parents who pass our health screening standards.
Several do not and we do not breed them. Duke and Star have OFA certificates for hips and elbows being free of dysplasia. We also checked their DNA with Animal Genetics' Golden Retriever Disorder panel to eliminate some of the common disorders with known DNA markers. We do this to strengthen the chance that our puppies will live long, healthy, loving lives. In
