National Cancer Awareness Month, Tips 1 & 2 Richmond
November is National Pet Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer is the leading disease-related cause of death for domestic dogs and cats in the U.S. In fact, the Veterinary Cancer Society has found that cancer is the leading cause of death in 47% of dogs and 32% of cats.
This month, Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center is spreading the word to help educate pet owners about how best to protect their four-legged family members against this awful disease.
The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) has developed the Top 10 warning signs of cancer in pets. These signs are not definitive for a diagnosis of cancer, but they may be able to detect a medical condition early and we all know that early detection is key when dealing with cancer.
Throughout the month we’ll share these warning signs, starting with Tips 1 and 2.
