This rescue is created in the name of our beloved boy Charlie. We want to help dogs out of harm's ways. We are 501(c)3 approved non-profit organization.
We are a foster based rescue. Dogs are kept with their fosters instead of in a shelter.
Meet Rocket. He is a 3 years old wheaten doodle (?). Fully vaccinated and neutered. But has some separation anxiety and on Prozac. Owner surrendered because owners travel a lot and don’t have time for him. He will be adoptable after I get to know his personality. He is very sweet, good with kids and dogs. Not sure about cats. Weighs 22 lbs and house trained. No shedding.
Jackson was adopted! He is very interested in daddy’s aquarium. The family already bought him a safety harness for future vacations. I don’t think he is spoiled, right?

I just received these pictures. Loki was adopted by his foster mom. A couple years ago, foster mom passed away. Her friend took in Loki. She has a 3 months old granddaughter. Loki loves her so much and stays by her side all day long! ❤️
Baby has Down’s syndrome and Loki has severe separation anxiety. They found each other. ❤️
Remi was adopted today. She got a brother who looks just like her but with long hair. They are so cute together. Thanks to Melissa for opening her heart and home to this sweet girl!!

Meet Jaxson. He is a 5 years old neutered Pomeranian. He will need his vaccines updated and microchipped then he will be available for adoption.
Jaxson’s owner had heart failure and couldn’t take care of him anymore. Jaxson is great with everybody (dogs, cats, kids). He is house trained. He is a perky and happy dog. He weighs 10 lbs.
Mia (new name: Dolly) was adopted by her foster mom today. It was love at the first sight. Dolly connected with the whole family instantly. She got 2 brothers and a canine brother to play with. Since she is the only girl in the family (except mom), everybody adores her! She was groomed, vaccinated, and spayed. Her mom and dad Eve got her a stroller. Kids were walking but she was in the stroller! Yeah, she is not spoiled. 😂

Meet Mia. She is a 6 months old mini Aussie Doodle. She is an owner surrender. Owner is moving to a place where pets are not allowed. She is very sweet and friendly. My pack already accepted this little sister as soon as they met her.
She has some vaccines but needs to be updated and spayed. She will be available for adoption as soon as we get all these done.

Buddy is opening up in my house. He mastered stair climbing and using the dog door. He is more friendly with other dogs now.
PS. I still have all the dogs that I rescued last year: Cici, Coco, Barry, Sammy, Dixie.) Most of them are VERY skittish. I couldn’t evetake them to do meet and greets. That’s why I haven’t posted their profiles.
Meet Remi. She is a 6 yrs old female chihuahua. Owner surrendered. Owner was in an abusive situation and now need to rehome her dogs and find a place to stay. Temporarily the owner still lives in the abuser’s house while the abuser is in jail. Remi is very sweet and laid back. She will need to be vaccinated and spayed. She is not available for adoption yet. If the owner can find a pet friendly apartment in Newark area, I told her that she can adopt Remi back (after we finish her vaccination, microchip, and spaying surgery.)
Meet Dragon ( name will be changed soon). 3 years old chihuahua mix. Rescued from Animal Resource Center (dog shelter) in Dayton. Not neutered. Skittish. Selectively likes certain people.
With a very heavy heart I would like to let you know that Scrappy crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. 💔
He had fluid drained last Tuesday. This time the fluid came back very quickly. We went to OSU yesterday and did bloodwork, Xray on heart and lung, and CT scans on belly to see if any blood clots that might cause the fluid. The doctor couldn’t find anything. She then suggested needle biopsy on liver and spleen which may lead to diagnostic surgery on the area. But none of these would be a treatment. The results could be finding nothing. Scrappy is so tiny and fragile, I decided not to proceed the biopsy and then the surgery. But I knew that I’m losing him because the fluid came back quickly. So I made the appointment for putting him to sleep and stopping him from the suffering.
I’m heart broken. I love this little guy so much. I didn’t get the chance to see his hair grow back! 💔😭
This is how scrappy eats his food. It’s hard to believe that he is sick. (Other dogs finished their food and were looking for leftovers)
Peanut (the little black chihuahua that we rescued from the street) was adopted by his foster parents. They took care of his vaccination, neutering and dental work. Peanut has to have 23 teeth extracted!! We couldn’t thank Riley family enough for taking in Peanut and providing him great care and love. (The family also adopted chiweenies Buddy and Scooter two years ago from us.)
Ps. Since the family paid for all Peanut’s medical needs, we waived his adoption fee. ❤️

Unfortunately we had to drain the fluid again. It was 700ml (1.5lb) of fluid this time. 😢 The doctor at OSU prescribed a medicine to help on extracting the water part from the fluid (and keeping potassium in his body.) it’s too soon to see the results yet.
We are on our way to get CBC. Unfortunately Scrappy still have MRSA. But we can’t get an appointment with the dermatologist at OSU till March 2024. I’m working with our vet to get some medicine for him till we can see the doctor next year.
Meanwhile he is eating and drinking well.
Dixie is doing well with me. She is a fireball and likes to annoy everybody.

The test result showed that he doesn’t have Addison’s disease. We are still waiting for the culture report of MRSA.

A rescue in Toledo area called me on Wednesday. She said a woman wanted to surrender a dog that she purchased in July on Facebook. She thought the dog may be ours by looking at the documents that the woman provided. I realize that it was Dixie, one of Gizmo’s puppies that was adopted in May. I called the woman next day. She said Macy (that what they called her) is very sweet to her but very afraid of her husband. Since her husband woe from home, Macy hid most of the time. Her husband has tried everything but she is still afraid of him. They also traveled a lot and couldn’t take her with them. That’s why they need to surrender her. I picked up Dixie today at their place. They took really good care of her. When we were leaving they packed a lot of her toys, bed, blankets and food for her. Her husband was very nice to her. It would’ve been a great home for her if she was not so afraid of the husband. After I got Dixie, I emailed the adopter and her that she supposed to rather back to us if she didn’t want her according to the adoption . She is on our do not adopt list . I’m going to post her on the rescue group page to warm other rescues about this woman. I also thank the rescue who called me so I could have Dixie back.

Meet Bailey. He is a almost 5 years old male shih tzu/Bichone mix and weighs 22 lbs. He is neutered but will need to have his vaccinations updated (almost due). So he is not ready for adoption yet.
He was surrounded because his owner has Parkinson disease and couldn’t take care of him anymore. He is not completely house trained and takes a while to warm up with strangers. He bared at me when we met. But he was on my lap all the way to Columbus from Mansfield. Good with dogs and cats.
I will need to find him a new name since I already have a Bailey at home (see the last picture).
Char(big one) and Ollie played. Both were adopted from us by the same family in different time. Ollie was intimidated by Charlie’s size and energy at the first. Now they are brothers. ❤️
Update of Scrappy:
We had a vet appointment today for recheck.
His eye is doing well. No eye drops are needed anymore. Ulcer is gone. (I’m finally a pro on giving him eye drops. I’m very proud. The first week was a war for giving hm the drops 4 times a day!)
His skins are definitely better. Thee are still some sores in the neck area. Do we will continue to give him the medicine for MRSA for two more weeks then another recheck.
He has some ear infections and received out-pack in both ears.
Overall he is doing great. He also behaved much better at the vet today. (Because of his skin and eye conditions, he didn’t want to be touched and would bite.) They Al said that he is a good boy!
Once he is healthy, we will have him vaccinated and neutered.

It has been 5 days since Scrappy started taking the new medicine for MRSA. He is doing better and more active. (He eats homemade dog food.)

Bunnie loves the puppies. She thinks she is the stepmom and takes care of them when Gizmo takes a break. She stays in the pen but away from their bed. Gizmo doesn’t mind at all. ❤️ (The one ran fast behind the panel was Gizmo.) The 2 big ones are boys; the 2 little ones are girls. No names yet.
I’m very pleased that momma let me clean the pen area. She didn’t try to bite me unless I was too close to her and puppies. I was able to clean the kiddie pool (pulled it away from the family to clean.) I was even able to retrieve the bowls that she hid in the pool!
Bear (former Charlie’s Wish rescued dog) turns 2! He just got a haircut. picture sent by daddy. The family adopted Oliver, a pekeningese who had chronic seizures. Bear took great care of him till Oliver passed away. The family is devoted pet owners. They are in Findley and took Oliver to OSU in Columbus for his seizure issues. Thank you very much for loving and caring these fur babies so much!!

Current status of Riley. He is still shy and would make eye contact with me. He still won’t come out of his crate when I’m home. But look at hi tail! 😂

Little Bear is adopted today. He got 3 canine brothers and sister to play with. The adopters adopted a Pekingese,Oliver, 4 years ago from us. Oliver had seizures when he was with us. The adopters took great care of him after the adoption. They are in Findlay and even took him to OSU for his check up. I’m very happy to find Bear such dedicated mom and dad. Puppy Bear is doing well on the first day with me. He slept with me all night without any accident. He is a good puppy.
