Perfect day for a ride. This new saddle is loud
Coming out for some breakfast hay after their grain.
Busby, our Boston Terrier goes for his morning swim after our chores and hike.
It was so hot yesterday I had to hose the horses down twice.
The second time around became more playtime than cool down time.
Normally it's cookies after breakfast but I wanted to mix it up. So baby carrots today.
Pond time. I should have taken their fly masks off, but the bugs are bad.
Sequence found my banana peel, and Spoons likes the dogs bed
Wild week for the horses, the storm, and then chainsaws going day and night around us.
And after a crazy ride with a tree snapping while we were out there, I thought a nice relaxing time by the pond was due.
Then we hear this helicopter flying right over our barn, crop dusting. This pilot had to have been in the Airforce. Amazing. It's much closer than it looks here.
Yesterday was a heck of an evening for storms here. 85mph wind shears and flooding.
We were so worried about the horses but you can see they went into the barn and stayed there until we came down and the storm ended.
There is a lot to clean up but everyone is safe here and our house and barn were untouched.
Muggy and hot days require bareback pads rides and shorts. Chance plays his song at the end of the video. I give it a 10 for the danceability.
Me trying to drag the arena. I have to drag around them.
Making Spoons run. She and Chance both need it
Pond time. Spoons has always laid down in the pond since the first time she went in it. She did it again today and Chance looked at her and thought, hey, that's a great idea.
Trying to relax on my barn porch while horses are by the pond. Ha!!
Chance rolling after cooling off in the pond on this 92°day.
With all of this rain and heat Chance and Spoons are getting chubby on the rich grass.
So I had to get them both the Flexible Filly grazing muzzle. They are not happy.
My heart breaks seeing them confused and anxious, but it would break more if anything happened to them from getting too much grass.
Content eating breakfast. We got more rain so of course Chance is filthy.
Chance is also packing some weight on with limited pasture, so I'm going to have to work him more so he doesn't get abscesses.
It's raining again. So umbrella play time.
Chance...because you can't live on just grass alone.
