After a long walk our handmade beds are the perfect retreat for your faithful friend; providing superior comfort and support our deep-filled luxurious dog beds are available in a range of sizes, with soft fabric covers to snuggle in to. The covers on our beds are easily removed and machine washable. An optional waterproof liner provides protection and longevity to the inner cushion, and helps to m
aintain a fresh bed. As all our products are handmade by our seamstresses here in our studio in the Lincolnshire Wolds we can happily accommodate requests to customise your bed (if you would prefer Velcro closures instead of zips, for example), and our fully bespoke service, where we work with you to design a bed to your specification, coordinating with your home.
Weโve been working away behind the scenes and are so happy to be able to share with you that we are moving to a new premises very soon!!
Weโll be closing for a week while we move (12 - 19 March) and before then we have a lot of packing to do!

This is always our busiest time of year, but this year is just phenomenal! Weโve been rather absent on social media lately as we are working in order non-stop, but the many orders, kind messages and fab reviews certainly make the long days worthwhile!
We are now just about at capacity for bed orders before Christmas and Iโll have to stop them earlier than expected. So if youโre thinking about getting a bed in time for Christmas please order in the next day or so!

Just wanted to say a quick hello ๐ weโve been a little quiet on here this month (ok very quiet!) because we are so so busy making your orders! The studio is a bit like Santaโs workshop at the moment!
November and December are always super busy months but we are extra busy this year, so I just wanted to say thank you!
This does mean our lead times are a few days longer and we have very limited capacity left for made-to-measure or bespoke items this year.
We will be in the studio & posting orders until 20th December but we may have to close off new orders earlier than expected at this rate so please donโt wait if you are thinking of ordering (plus we have some great deals on at the mo!)
Every item is designed, hand-cut and sewn by us and can be personalised to make a gift even more special โฅ๏ธ This does mean we have very little stock that is ready to post so please bear this in mind if you need something in a hurry - we donโt want anyone to miss out but itโd be unfair for us to bump up an order above everyone else.

A great night for those who enjoy itโฆa scary night for those who donโt. Thereโs been some very loud fireworks near us and Iโve made a few dashes outside to check the horses, then back in to check on the dogs!
Iโm feeling very relieved to have horses that donโt seem at all phased by fireworks (well done to the oldies for showing the youngsters theyโre not scary), however, Rocky & Buster arenโt so happy!
TV loud, cuddles all round and a cosy blanket to snuggle under is helping here.
Hope your doggos and other pets are managing ok, hereโs to quieter nights from now ๐

The next few days could be extra scary for your dog with trick or treaters calling by in spooky outfits and fireworks soon after, so hereโs some tips to help keep your dog as stress free as possible:
- display a lit pumpkin if youโd like people to stop by, donโt put a pumpkin out if youโd prefer not to be disturbed
- if your dog is reactive to visitors but youโd like to be part of the festivities leave a cauldron of sweets with a sign outside for trick-or-treaters to help themselves ๐
- play relaxing music like classical or calming podcasts, it can help to distract your dog from noises outside. On fireworks night Classic FM even host a special show for pets!
- create a quiet, cosy space for your dog to escape to and feel safe in. Our Den Beds & Snuggle Sacks are a great place for any pet to retreat into.
- try a pheromone plug-in or spray to help lower their stress
- discuss with your vet if there are any treatments that may benefit your dog ๐พ

I donโt often write posts like this, but as we were making orders today I had one of those โpinch meโ moments when I realised just how far Designed for Dogs has come.
8 years ago Designed for Dogs was just an idea (maybe a slightly crazy one too!) and soon started as just me in a studio at home with Buster & Rocky for company.
3 years ago we moved into our current, much larger premises, and now our products are enjoyed by dogs across the world - just this week we have posted orders to Australia, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Switzerland and the USA!
And seeing these just from this morning all stacked up really hit home & made me feel so proud of our little team. Weโre all a bit camera-shy so you donโt see our faces often but they really are an amazing bunch: hard working, dedicated and great fun to work with.
I canโt thank the team, our customers and followers enough for turning a dream into a reality and helping this small business to grow and grow โค๏ธ
Oh, and 8 years later how lucky are we to have Buster & Rocky still keeping us company ๐พ

Our Story
Before we brought home our rescue pup, Rocky, we wanted to buy him a bed that we could easily wash, and that would look nice in our home. We were dismayed that so many beds labelled 'washable' meant putting the entire bed in the washing machine! Not only were most beds too big for a typical machine but they rarely come out the same shape or softness. The covers were often poor quality with a limited choice of colours & patterns. And we'd always found with previous beds that many fibre fillings go 'flat' very quickly, losing their comfort and support.
Frustrated by this we spent the following months speaking to other dog owners, researching and testing materials, and over time have created our own range of beds. Living in the countryside has inspired our country-themed fabrics, and also provides the perfect testing ground for durability and washability!
Our products aren't the cheapest out there, but they are certainly not the most expensive either. We carefully select the very best materials and the prices truly reflect the quality of the product. In buying from Designed for Dogs we are confident you are buying a product that will last well and still look great.
