🥳🩵🥰TANNER'S SURGERY UPDATE & A FUTURE HAPPY TAIL🥰🩵🥳

All the cool kids have customized bandages, right?! Don't tell Tanner he's anything less than special!

Friends, on Wednesday sweet Tanner had a successful balloon procedure to open up the right side of his heart to a better blood flow. Anesthesia is always tricky with a dog whose heart doesn't act the ways other hearts to, but Tanner handled it like a champ!👊👊

Tanner will continue on a medication that is helping to support his heart. He may or may not be on this medication for life. Only time will tell how well the procedure worked.

Thanks to YOU, Tanner's heart is working as it should for the first time in his life. Thanks to YOU, he has the best chance at a long, happy life. And thanks to YOU, Tanner is ready for his forever home.

Spoiler alert - To meet Tanner is to fall in love. And that's exactly what happened with the team at UGA where his surgery happened. We hope to share Tanner's ultimate happy (home) tail next week 🙏

Meet Adoptable Lacy!
Lacy is a female Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix puppy. She came to CPR in early December as an owner release. Lacy was given to an older person as a companion, but that person has entered the hospital, so Lacy needs a new home.

Lacy is a young, happy, highly active dog that's had far too little activity and socialization as a young puppy. She was very well loved, but needed so much more activity than her owners could give her. Lacy is looking for a highly active lifestyle. This girl is no couch potato! She is a perfect hiking buddy and would love any adventure you're up for. Her small size is well suited for children over 8, as long as you're willing to invest in some training. All that Lacy knows is that humans are awesome, and she wants to be with you all the time.

Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! While our ideal home for puppies has another young dog in it, Lacy could be adopted to a home where she is the only dog as long as there is a solid plan for regular socialization a minimum of 4 times per week.

🌈💙💔 IN LOVING MEMORY OF MAGGIE JUDY 🌈💙💔

Sometimes our time is simply too short. 2 weeks ago we introduced you to Maggie Judy, the senior shih tzu with untreated congestive heart failure who found her way to CPR in June of this year. Yesterday, we said goodbye to the gentle, beautiful soul that captured everyone's hearts.

You see in the first photo Maggie's beloved caregivers saying goodbye. Through tears, we also shared memories and memories of this girl who truly showed us her personality as she felt better.

We laughed at how much Maggie Judy loved food..... sneaking a taste of everyone else's dinner before she'd eat her own and dancing for a hot dog with her meds in it. We smiled at how fiercely Maggie Judy loved - even starting to guard her caregiver Olivia when she didn't want to share. We celebrated her new-found love of hot pink nails. When she stopped begging and eating and guarding, we knew her body was tired.

Maggie Judy - 5 months was not long enough. We love you. We celebrate you. We know you are dancing pain-free today precious girl! 🩷🩷

Roxie is an adult female Standard Poodle. She came to CPR in mid-November as a breeder release because her breeder was downsizing.

Looking for a loyal, playful, and loving companion to brighten your days - say hello to Roxie, the delightful three-year-old standard poodle with a heart as big as her paws! Roxie is ready to find her forever home and share all the love she has to give.

Roxie would thrive in an active home where she can get plenty of exercise and attention. Whether you’re a single person, a couple, or a family with older children (12+), Roxie will fit right in and quickly become your best friend. She’s a big girl with a big personality, and while she loves everyone she meets, she can be a bit much for younger children, especially due to her exuberant jumping and playful energy.

Simba was LOST this am from Highway 18 near Gaffney SC 29372. Simba arrived yesterday - he is terrified and on the run. He jumped his fence and took off. We have sightings of him as of 10:30 am.

Simba is MICROCHIPPED - he is wearing a purple harness but is not wearing any id tags.

At 8 years young, Bentley seems to have it all. Small. Apricot. Past the puppy stage. And….. looking for his person unapologetically. Enter Olivia - one of our incredible team members and Bentley’s person. It only took him 18 months to find her. We think it’s worth the wait! 💕

Oh Rachel…. How did your beautiful body wind up wandering the streets?? At an estimated 11 years young, it is clear Rachel has been loved. She is also one of our full mouth extraction club members due to very poor dental care. Thanks to Luna’s Legacy Medical Fund, we have the close to $1,000 it takes to remove 23 teeth. We know she feels so much better! “

To meet Hershey is to love!! At 5 years young, Hershey is one of our special boys. Born with an autoimmune disease called Sebaceous Adenitis - a condition that affects the skin and hair - Hershey’s family knew he needed more and asked rescue to help. How could we say no?! Hershey’s condition is a lifelong commitment. Luna’s Legacy Medical Fund makes that commitment possible!

Introducing Denny… an estimated 12 year old shih tzu found as a stray. He’s a hot mess express. And he’s ours. And we wouldn’t have him any other way 😍 Denny is just one of the many dogs for whom everyday life takes a lot. You make it possible!

Next up is Sugga…. At 11 years old she has a chest full of mammary tumors. Surrendered when her owner could no longer care for her. Her lucky day as Sugga needs urgent medical attention.
