Save Our Cocker Spaniels - SOCKS A Florida Sanctuary and Rescue
We love Cocker Spaniels but will assist with others if fosters are available. Welcome to Save Our Cocker Spaniels or SOCKS!

We are a registered 501c3 organization

We don’t really have a set boundary but we are attempting to help rescue cocker spaniels from mid FL to south GA and from Jacksonville Fl through the panhandle to South Al and Southeastern MS. We still have some great foster homes in the southern part of the state so may pop up there every now and then who knows! We do adopt out of state but we are limiting

adoptions to Florida, Georgia, Southern Alabama and South East Mississippi. We do require adopters to come to Florida to meet and pick up their new family members. Our pups will not be allowed to fly cargo on any airliner. Our adoption fees:
1 year and younger- $500
13 months to 5 years - $400
6 years to 9 years - $350
10 Years and over - $250

Mission Statement: To educate cocker spaniel owners of the care, health concerns and behavioral needs of a cocker spaniel prior to their adoption. To ensure cocker spaniels in our care are placed in foster care prior to finding an appropriate loving forever home. To provide quality veterinary care to all cocker spaniels in our care. PLEASE READ BELOW:
1. SOCKS ADOPTS TO FAMILIES IN FLORIDA, GEORGIA, SOUTHERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI. IF YOU ARE OUT OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA YOU WOULD NEED TO TRAVEL TO FLORIDA TO COMPLETE YOUR ADOPTION.
2. WE DO CHECK VET REFERENCES AND YOUR CURRENT PETS MUST BE UP TO DATE ON VACCINATIONS, HEARTWORM TESTING AND BE ABLE TO PROVIDE PROOF OF PURCHASE OF HW PREVENTION.
3. ALL DOGS AND CATS IN YOUR HOME MUST BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED.
4. IF WE DO NOT KNOW A DOG’S HISTORY WITH CHILDREN WE WILL NOT ADOPT TO A FAMILY WITH YOUNG CHILDREN.
5. ADOPTIONS ARE NOT DONE ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. WE WILL ACCEPT APPLICATIONS AND THEN SCREEN ALL AND CHOOSE THE BEST MATCH.
6. WE WILL NOT SET UP MEET AND GREETS UNTIL YOU HAVE AN APPROVED APPLICATION. TRANSPORTATION TO A MEET AND GREET IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE POTENTIAL ADOPTER.
7. ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS WILL BE CONTACTED.

Today is NATIONAL ADOPTION DAY.

If you are thinking of adding a furbaby to your family, please . Check with rescues and shelters. Shelters can be a very scary place for a pup who doesn’t understand why they are even there.

Don’t overlook the ones with special needs, may they be blind, deaf, a tripod a senior or one with some other medical needs. They have so much love to give. They seem to know that they have been rescued.

When you rescue a pet, you are actually SAVING TWO LIVES, the one you adopt will make room for another one to be rescued.

Hi, I’m Polly, a 4 yr old, 34 lb BEAUTIFUL English Cocker! I’m a happy, wiggly girl who’s had quite a journey, but I’m loving life in my foster home. I came into rescue after my previous owner could no longer care for me. I’m deaf and have a cute little head tilt from a couple of snake bites in my past, but none of that slows me down—I’m too busy enjoying every moment.

Here’s what I love most:
I really enjoy chewing on bones, sprinting around with toys (and okay… sometimes destroying them), and playing with my foster brother. I’m also a world-class snuggler and love giving kisses. I don’t bark much—only when I’m super excited about food or when I’m left alone and worried. I have a bit of separation anxiety, but I do great in my kennel when my people leave the house.

I’m a smart cookie!
I know how to lay down and how to “place,” and I listen with my eyes and body since I can’t hear. I wear a special vibrating collar that helps get my attention on walks, but honestly, I’m already great on a leash and I love going for walks. I have been going through personalized training with my foster mom and I’ve picked it all up quickly. Outside, I like to stay close to my people—being near them makes me feel safe and happy.

A few quirks to know:
I do get a little protective of my food or toys around other animals—I might give a growl if they get too close but I won't snap at them. I’ve never shown this behavior toward humans, and I’m easily redirected.

Overall, I’m a sweet, joyful girl who loves life, loves people, and gets along with everyone, other dogs and cats included. I’m just looking for a family who will love me back, keep helping me feel secure, and let me be the silly, snuggly, wonderful dog I am.

I am up to date on my vaccinations, Heartworm tested and on monthly flea and Heartworm protection, microchipped and spayed. My adoption fee is $400. If interested in adopting a beautiful Velcro girl who gives the best kisses (that would be me) submit an application at saveourcockerspaniels.org.

Meet Douglas (Dougie). Dougie is with our rescue friends Rockstar Cocker Spaniel Rescue’s southern branch and is located in Huntsville, AL. He is a kid obsessed, ball loving 18 month old black Cocker!! He is Up to Date on all vaccines, micro chipped, Heartworm tested and neutered! He is also crate trained, doggie door trained, house trained and loves riding in the car!! He is good with other dogs when introduced slowly and great with dogs his size and tolerates bigger dogs, good with cats. He is not a barker and will play quietly with all his toys if the kids are too busy for fetch!! Sounds like the perfect dog to us!
